We stayed here one night on our vacation. We stayed in the Low Tide room, which is right on the water. Just lovely. An entire wall of windows looking out at the sea. Comfy and immaculate. If you have difficulty with steep stairs, ask for another room. Don't miss dinner in the restaurant. An incredible dining experience.

This quaint, coastal retreat provides some of the most impressive food and beverage offerings I have seen in a long time. The Inn itself is perfectly curated to represent everything beautiful about the west coast and everything it has to offer. From the snacks at the reception desk, the beautiful little massage hut in the back of the property, to the impeccable, yet warm service staff at the restaurant, this place does not disappoint.

For anyone who is looking for a fresh, intelligent and flawlessly executed culinary destination that captures the essence of the Pacific Northwest, set in a lovely and unpretentious setting, this is the place for you. It is not even an hour and a half from Vancouver or Seattle and you feel worlds away.

I cannot recommend this place enough!

We stayed at the Inn the night we had dinner here (and separately reviewed the amazing dinner). We highly recommend the inn. It's much more charming than I thought it would be based on some of the reviews. Our room (Sunset) may have received an upgrade recently. Very nice to be able to go upstairs directly after dinner. It was compact but had all that we needed. Ultra comfortable queen bed with view of the sound. Nice amenities in the bathroom - soft towels. bathrobes, and a good shower. There was a french press coffee maker in the room (thank you!). Orcas appeared to wave us goodbye on our way out - they were the best part!
Tip: expect at least an hour's wait at the ferry in the summer if you are trying to figure out how much time you need to get to the island before dinner at the inn. The ferry is tiny and only holds about 20 cars. I thought we left hours of buffer time, and we still only made it to dinner with minutes to spare. Don't be us!

Room Tip: Sunset room has view of the sound, charming amenities; note it is not huge (queen not king bed)

A riot of flowers welcomed us at the charming Willows Inn with its spectacular water view. The Inn has been there for many years, but is lovingly maintained. Our room was small, but attractive and comfortable and had a spacious steambath and shower combo. We each enjoyed a massage at the spa and, of course, an incredible dinner and breakfast. A splurge, but fun.

If you plan to eat at the WIllows Inn, this is what you should book. We reserved the lovely beach house which was literally steps from the waves. A long deserted beachfront awaits. The kitchen and living room made me want to settle in for days. It's not quite walking distance from the restaurant but it's a very quick drive. Amazing views from most rooms. One caveat: the sleeping loft is probably best from younger children. It has reduced ceiling height that makes it very awkward for anyone over 5 feet tall. Also, one bath means that showers can bottle neck. Still, the view to the San Juan Islands can't be beat.

Room Tip: sleeping loft has nice beds but a very low ceiling
