Lets start with the good stuff. It is close to the ferry so you can park your car for free if you are going into Edmonds. The woman who cleans the rooms is very friendly and she does a great job making them clean. The people who are living there are friendly and not drug or drink inclined they are just poor with little options for renting a place.
Now what is wrong with the place. The lady who runs it (owns it?) isn't there half the time and it is just locked. The room we had- no plug for the sink, no hot water because it leaked. The shower curtain was too small so water every where. You had to unplug the tv to use the microwave because the plug was broken no light in the hallway, no coffee maker, one lamp which is no where near the bed, It appears that she gets anyone to fix things for money off their rent cause everything is half done. We were woke up cause she didn't remember we were there(who forgets someone booked for 10 days). No place to put your suitcase to get stuff out other than the floor. The place has not had an update since the 80's if it is that recent. There are great locks on the doors(deadbolts) but you don't get the key for them just the lock that anyone could force and only one key so no way to go different ways and get into the room. These days a coffee maker is a must and they are cheap but then she would have to give you coffee. there also is no air so it can get hot during the day but it is cooler at night. She is friendly but that isn't enough to take away from the things that are wrong with it. Go to Poulsbo and pay more you will be happier the beds are bad nothing has been changed since the 80's and the thing is she could have a great place with a little investment as it is close to stuff. Go to another place you may pay more but you will be much happier and they aren't far away.

Room Tip: go to another motel unless you are out drinking local and don't want to drive

This was the only place to get a room in Kingston, I wish we would have driven to Poulsbo instead. This place is a dump... literally. People live here and have their trash piled up inside their doorways but leave the door wide open. Screaming kids and loud TV's through the paper thin walls. the room itself had black mold around the windows, bent and broken blinds, and gross little bed that looked like it was drug out of an alley. The tv was on top of a broken microwave in the corner. I guess we should have known it would be bad with the car on jacks in the parking lot.

Room Tip: Sleeping in your car is the best option.

First of all, the Blue Water Inn is not the Fairmont or the Hilton. What it is, however, is a very convenient stop over if you need a place to stay in Kingston. The staff is super warm and friendly, very helpful, and do their best to give great service. The recently renovated rooms are neat, clean, and attractive. They have a microwave, small refrigerator, and flat screen TV. The prices are great! If you are expecting a luxury hotel room for $60 you will not be happy with the BWI. But for the price, it's a very good hotel! I have not stayed in one of the older rooms, so I can't comment on those. Try and get a renovated room if you stay there.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room. Second floor is probably quieter.

Room 106, the carpet was nasty, especially at the entry way, black and wet and it wasnt raining, so not sure why it was wet. The bed linens were old and worn out. We had arrived a bit early from check in and the room was still being cleaned. We were told to come back in 15 minutes. We went to eat, returned an hour later, checked in, the room was absolutely freezing. You think they could have turned the heater on knowing there was a family checking in. It took forever to get it warm enough to take off our coats. The smoke detector was completely missing. The bracket was there but no detector, SO illegal. My friends room appeared to have a drip of blood running down the wall. Our room didnt even have a phone in it. My cell had very spotty service, so i called the office around 5:30 to get the password for the advertised free wifi and received no answer. The heater in the bathroom had, at some point, quit working, so instead of fixing it, they just covered it up with a piece of vinyl. Needless to say, the bathroom was freezing. All in all this motel is a nasty run down hole. Dont waste your money here.
