The kitchen and menu are same as the Manor House in the same building but this is a no-kids bar venue. We like the chef and we like their happy hour special of $1 local oysters. This is a huge bargain and the local oysters are consistently excellent.
However their Happy Hour drinks are not a good deal. We were charged $9 each for well drinks. For the third time in recent visits the bartender got our drinks wrong and we had to get them replaced. He is preoccupied listening to his own brand of music on the overly loud stereo. Which he plays at the same time as playing the TV with a baseball game going. (Nobody but bartender watching).
The server was pleasant and accommodating as is usually the case.
Watch out when you get the bill though. Like the restaurant they tack on a 5% "service charge" claiming it is the law and kitchen staff cannot share tips given the servers.
I do not like mandatory "service charges" in America. In Europe they charge a 15% service charge but then expect no "tip". What they pay kitchen staff is none of my concern, I would expect them to pay a fair wage and charge what they need to do this then let me tip the person personally serving me.
This is one of our favorite places and the only problem is that management has taken a good venue and good chef and made it unpleasant with their "mandatory service charge". They claim that all restaurants are doing the same. That is absolutely not true in this community.
Otherwise hope the chef and servers keep up the great work.

The food was OK, but priced beyond that level ($16 for a burger in fries). Usually when you pay higher prices for the food, it's the ambiance that helps add value to the experience. Table service is part of that ambiance.

Our table was never set formally, fork/knife combos rolled up in the middle for each of us to dig out. Napkins were a nightmare: see-through thin, and just one apiece, so maybe one wipe or two is all they'd last you. All of our napkins were used up during the starters — never replenished. I used my glass of water to clean my fingers several times because I was a little embarrassed to ask the server to notice what she should have on her own. If you are going to serve customers cheap napkins, serve them many. Or give them a nice thick napkin.

All the while, we were constantly poured water and coffee but our set of plates from starters were never collected until dinner was over — it was messy and again, we were shy to ask the server to perform a normal task. The restaurant had no more than 10 people at its prime hour. It was uneven, sloppy service.

Last night was our 3rd visit as have a second home on the island. First 2 visits were great but last night was a disappointment. Perhaps just an off-night for the kitchen.
Both our salads were way over dressed and the lettuce not fresh. The regular wine prices are also high along with the forced gratuity (which we understand) make for an expensive dinner out. Next time we'll stick with Happy Hour here. (We noticed that the place more or less cleared out after 6:30PM.... On a good note, our server was great.

the inside bar is cozy, but it's one of my favorite place to meet friends for a drink and appetizers - out on the deck, with some views of the water. great service.
