“Awesome folk art”
Reviewed 16 January 2012

Will give you a new perspective on folk art. Abby Aldrich Rockefeller's collection has been supplemented by numerous other personal contributions. There are also several hand-on stations for kids, which we presume are intended for pre-arranged tours.

“Amazing collection!!”
Reviewed 15 January 2012

The richness of the exhibits was overwhelming at first. It was all so good, and I didn't want to miss any of the details - I finally realized that even though it is a smaller museum, I have to treat it like a larger one - a quick tour just doesn't cut it.

Pottery - superb, paintings - sublime, furniture, porcelain, pewter and silver - just not enough superlatives.

If you are heading to williamsburg, don't you dare miss this museum!

“Appealing and accessible; excellent exhibits, worth several visits."”
Reviewed 10 January 2012

Colonial Williamsburg paths can get crowded with people - and it's nice to pop into a lovely, modern museum that has 'something for everyone' to enjoy. Doll houses, ceramics, paintings and gorgeous real antique furniture crafted from beautiful American woods are in this museum. Silver and fine china from Europe and the Orient are presented. The gift shop has objects and books that are affordable, and there are plenty of benches and spaces to rest if you are weary of walking. We visit this museum frequently and take friends and family of all ages. We always pay the admission fee, b/c we don't have passes to CW. It's reasonable, and worth the price.

“Use ticket for Dewitt Wallace”
Reviewed 9 January 2012

10 dollar ticket allows you to visit the Folk Art Museum
and Dewitt Wallace Fine Art Museum, on the same premises. Avoid the entrance with heart-rending items of pain from the treatment of mentally ill.

“From quilts to weathervanes to a handmade wooden hippo, this is a treasure of a place.”
Reviewed 9 January 2012

When people say art, one thinks of paintings, but this is so much more. There are quilts, clothing, weathervanes, toys, and a huge number of other handmade items to see. You have to see the handmade wood hippo with a record player built into it's back. It's mouth opens, too. What treasures.
