“Great hot sandwiches, ample portions”
Reviewed 18 January 2012

We enjoyed the hot sandwiches at Paul's on a cold day with football playing on the many large screened TVs. The collegiate decor was fun, and the food was great. The only thing lacking was any attentive service, but that may be the "charm" of this little place. Most of the servers are working in the kitchen, making foods and ringing up tabs and pouring beers. We werent' checked on once and had to go get our own napkins. HOwever, the staff was cheerful and the great food makes my review a four-star rather than a 3.

“Great Food--Across from William and Mary”
Reviewed 9 January 2012

Great food and a very reasonable price. The restaurant has a William and Mary sports motif, and appears to be very popular with both students and visitors to Colonial Williamsburg. There is not table/wait service. You just walk in, order your food, pay for it, find a table and they call you when the food is ready. You pick it up yourself and take it back to your table. We ordered three lunches and they were ready at the order/pick counter in 10 minutes. The quantiy of food served was good and the taste was excellent. A great place for a quick and good tasting lunch or dinner.

“Great casual eatery”
Reviewed 7 January 2012

Paul's is one of our favorite places to eat after shopping all day in Williamsburg. Within walking distance of William & Mary, it has that local neighborhood feel. The subs are fresh and very good. The pizza is great, and the crust just right...not too thin and not too thick. The chicken wings are large and perfectly crisp. There are also numerous Greek and Italian entrees to choose from as well as several different burgers. They also offer soups and salads. They have a dozen different beers on tap as well as bottled and offer a different beer special after 4p. I am always too full to try dessert, but they have cakes that are at least 8 inches high! The service is always very good. If this is the type food you are looking for, you will definitely not be disappointed.

“Paul's Loaded Cheese Fries and Corona Night”
Reviewed 5 December 2011

Get the loaded cheese fries. They are amazing. The bar itself serves many sandwiches and has a decent variety of beers and mixed drinks (although regretably not as many as the Green Leafe next door). They are a sport's bar theme but not what you would normally expect with a sports bar. Plenty of TVs to watch the game and a weird mix of locals, families, tourists, and college students. Overall the best bar in downtown Williamsburg for the price and location. Don't forget dollar Corona night (Wednesday). Come early though.

“Great Place to Relax”
Reviewed 27 November 2011

It is true that Paul's can be confusing for a new visitor, but it has the best sandwiches (actually) subs and pizza in Williamsburg. I've also had their spaghetti and pasta dishes that are excellent. Last night, my family and I enjoyed their signature William and Mary sub, a Club sub, and a Straek and Cheese sub along with baslkets of their hot and tasty french fries. Paul's actually is a college bar disguised as a deli restaurant. A gourmet restaurant it is not. A great college spot; it is.
