Description: Not much has changed since George Washington frequented Christiana Campbell’s Tavern for its delicious seafood in the 18th century. Lively conversation and learned discussion still abound, and today’s menu items could easily have been ordered by our founding fathers. Dig in to locally sourced shrimp, scallops, and fish, and be sure to try Christiana’s famous crab cakes, and a group of balladeers will help you channel your inner seafarer with toe-tapping shanties.

Had to hunt for the oyster in the over breaded cheaply seasoned appetizer. the 'salat' was just plain nasty...really not AT ALL a seafood restaurant. The evening was topped off by the cashier who was sleeping at the little portal window. Our waitress was friendly and timely..oh well

We took our 4 kids ages 4-10. We had a reservation at 5:45 which was great, other families around us so didn’t feel like we were disrupting any romantic dinners (tables are a little close together). We sat upstairs and the room was beautiful! Our server was great and a lot of fun! Food was good, especially the mini-muffins before the meal. We also loved the clam chowder! Our entrees were very good, but a little expensive for the quality. However, we felt the prices were worth it for the overall experience. There was a great mandolin player who came to play upstairs for a couple of songs and had a beautiful voice. All of the kids (and adults) thought he was great! Fun time!

Very disappointing for $120 dinner for two. The corn chowder, sweet potato rolls and spoon bread were the best parts of the meal. I had the Waterman's Supper, the stuffed flounder was rubbery. I tried the stuffing and pushed it aside. The crab cakes were way over seasoned and were the most disappointing part. My wife had the crab cakes and felt the same as I did, she left over half on her plate. Only had dessert because it came with my meal, very dry chocolate cake which didn't get eaten. All of the staff was very polite and the service was excellent, which is why we are rating our visit this high.

Campbell's served our $12 Family Punch Bowl in a Cambro Plastic salad bar container insert and a scratched up clear plastic salad dressing ladle. Very disappointing. Otherwise food was good, a bit under-salted. Chocolate cake dry. Seafood Friccasee and fried chicken were delicious. That plastic serveware was unfortunate.

When planning a visit to Colonial Williamsburg & The Colonial Village...whether as a first timer or as a return visitor..You are looking for an Authentic Colonial Experience. We made dinner reservations, as first time visitors to Williamsburg, at Christina Campbell's Tavern and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From it's placement on the edge of the Colonial Village to its historic decor it felt like a walk back in time. We sat on the porch and took in the atmosphere for a moment before being seated. The Tavern reasonably made our reservation time. We loved the room we were in, our service was impeccable, the storyteller was very interesting and we thought our meals were delicious. The "bread" basket to start our dinner was outstanding!! I had a perfectly cooked Grilled Beef Ribeye and my wife had the Crab Cakes. She is a bit of a foodie and can be tough on rating Her meals but She finished everything on Her plate. Our desserts were incredible, an Apple Crisp & the Black Walnut Pie. But, the most important part of our evening was to have an Authentic Colonial Experience and our meal at Christina Campbell's Tavern was exactly what we were hoping for.
