Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center
Reviewed 28 September 2011

I love to wander around small themed gardens at my own pace and here there are many including: native plants, white garden, seaside garden, composting heaven, children's garden and one for people with disabilities, which has fabulous raised beds. You can also learn tips and tricks as you go as each themed garden has a mailbox with a fact sheet you can take with you. The gardens are maintained by volunteer 'master gardeners' who are always ready to share hints and helpful advice if they are there when you visit. The gardens are open to the public all the time, whenever you want to go just park on Diamond Springs Road and walk in. There is no entrance fee and this is a wonderful way to get ideas for your own yard.
