“Our Presidential Tour”
Reviewed 5 May 2012

We chose the Lafayette Inn as base camp for our Presidential Tour around Charlottesville. The rooms are spacious and individually decorated, the meals were outstanding (breakfast and dinner) and the hosts Kaye and Alan welcome you so friendly and open hearted. It is obvious that we will return...very soon.

“Be careful, they automatically charge an 18% gratiuty”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

The food was bland and our group of 4 was automatically charged an 18% gratuity. We were one of two tables on a Friday night, which should have been a bit of a warning. This place is overpriced for what it is - but at least the service was good and we had fun with our friends.

“Fantastic food, great server and chef”
Reviewed 20 March 2012

Fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits are a must. Loved that the chef came out and spoke with the diners. Waitress was very friendly and had great recommendations.

“Family friendly”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

Quaint old inn. The innkeepers are very nice and the staff are friendly and attentive. We stayed with a couple teenagers in tow and had a good set up for our family to spread out a bit. We sent them to a local pizza place and we dined in the restaurant on a elegant dinner with local wine. Try to southern egg rolls appetizer- they are "off the hook"!!

“relaxing and a warm welcome”
Reviewed 28 January 2012

I went here with my 22yr old daughter and a friend. We were served in a nicely decorated dining room. The black table cloths and gold chargers were beautiful on the tables. The menu is REAL food that REAL people eat combined with a sophisticated flare. I had the chicken salad on croissant served with a choice of side (I chose salad) . Very moist and full of flavor. The others had a soy burger with pineapple that was great also. They had side of sweet potato fries. We had a chocolate cake that was great!
The service was excellent! Our waitress was very helpful and went out of her way to please. She kept our drinks filled and removed empty plates as needed. (The have a website to look at.)
There is a piano in the room that they generously allowed my daughter to play. When the piano is not used, they have music ' that quietly fill the room.
After lunch we asked if we could tour the Hotel rooms. The manager took the time to show us around to each room. The rooms have antiques and beautiful bedding and sitting areas. A ll rooms are equipped with individual keurig coffee makers. With the price of a room comes breakfast the next morning. Location is convenient to historical placesin the area, and also UVA. Charlottesville is 20 min. away. It has the charm of history mixed with the comforts of home. Will definitely visit again.
