We were lucky enough to spend an evening doing a Deschutes beer and River and Rail food adventure last night. The clever event began at Roanoke’s Go Fest, and featured several stops with different beers, snacks, and a bit of history as we ambled from one spot to the next. The three courses at the River and Rail restaurant were each creative and well prepared. The servers were thoughtful and funny. And the evening was a delight from start to finish.

found this place during a weekend volleyball tournament. A group of us parent snuck away during a break. Loved it so much we hit it again before we left on Sunday. So many good things here. See the pictures. When in Roanoke will make it a point to stop in again. see pics. Deviled Egg. the burger, the bloody marry, crab-cake beni, omelet, ....everything. we were sampling it all. it was one of those where each person wants all others to try their food because every meal/item that was ordered had a "Wow" factor.

My wife and I sat at the bar and had a delightful evening of unique cocktails, appetizers, and wine. All under the direction of Nexus - the bartender. We started with the jar of pickled vegetables, followed by the bacon wrapped oysters and a salad. We then split the hangar steak. All was delicious and complemented our bottle of Spanish Tempranillo.

Great restaurant- highly recommended!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Interesting approaches to both their cocktails and dishes. A bit pricey, but not extraordinarily so.
