We spent one night at this Super 8, which is part of a line of "budget" (read: cheap and tired) motels right by the Roanoke Airport. I think the Super 8 was the best of the bunch, but that wasn't necessarily saying all that much. The nicer hotels were about a mile away--but they also cost quite a bit more.
Super 8s are true budget motels, without many amenities. Our room was clean, but it was also very dark--I felt like it was lit by 35 watt bulbs (at best). The hallway carpets were in serious need of a deep cleaning, but they weren't quite beyond salvage, yet. Walls were fairly thin, so there were some sound issues. Still, the A/C worked, and everyone at the motel eventually went to bed. Sheets and towels were clean. We slept without any issues.
Breakfast was totally adequate, albeit simple. Cheap orange juice, but that's to be expected.
Bottom line: a perfectly adequate place to crash for the night, but I wouldn't stay here for the decor or the charming neighborhood.More
