Say YES to The Kerikeri Park Lodge. WHAT a great place! After 1 night in Paihia (with its tourist busses, helicopters, cruise ships & mob scene), we went looking for a "tranquil and peaceful" location. The Kerikeri Park Lodge is about 40km further North and so glad we made this 2-night change of plans! We were given the Alderton Room ...Donna said, "This is our premium room...I think you will like it." and we did, very much so! Fully equipped/furnished, spacious and elegant with an balcony patio--table and 2 chairs. WHAT A FIND by Tripadvisor!!! From the balcony, the grounds & lawn fan out to a surrounding forest preserve. The lodge is located off the main highway going into the town center (about 1 mile). We found good coffee, good food and Molly's Little Bookstore. We also explored around the area and thoroughly enjoyed a wine-tasting and lunch @ The Marsdan Estate and Rainbow Falls (in Waipapa...Beautiful countryside all around Kerikeri). Wish we could have stayed longer at The Kerikeri Park Lodge...We think its the perfect "base camp" for exploring the entire Northern Peninsula. Our favorite hotel during 5 weeks "Down Under."

Room Tip: The entire facility (& grounds) is outstanding. We loved room #17, The Alderton! 2nd floor with a balcony-patio! PERFECT for 2.

We went as a group and had 2 one bedroom apartments one with an extra bed in the living room. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well furnished and the bathrooms well stocked with decent toiletries. The separate toilet was helpful and the spa bath was great. All rooms looked out onto a big lawned area at the front with patio doors. Then main entry was at the back from the car park which was huge. The ladies in reception (? the owner). were extremely helpful in both sorting out the sofa beds and sorting out local trips. Bottles of water and a bottle of milk was provided for each appartment and there were different teas and coffees available, including a Nespresso machine and pods. The motel was set well back from the road down a long drive. The only noise was from the cockrel which started crowing about 6.30 in the morning. The photos shown are very representative of the place and not 'photoshopped' to make it look better than it is; it is as good as it looks. Very enjoyable stay and I would highly recommend.

Thank you for your comments and in depth description of the property.

We also enjoy the natural and usually relaxing environment, which would be improved if the neighbouring cockerel left the area :)

We hope that we can welcome you here again soon.

Fautif il trees surround this motel which is in a park like location. My unit was spacious with separate bathroom and toilet and a kitchenette which was well appointed. The separate bedroom was an appropriate size and the bed was good. Serviced daily. The managers were charming and very helpful.

Our stay started well, we were upgraded to a one bed apartment from a deluxe studio.
The accommodation was very clean and everything was good quality. The grounds are lovely and well kept. Donna the owner is a friendly and helpful host. We had a medical problem on a Sunday and Donna sorted everything for us to receive medical attention, she even offered to take us to the hospital. We will certainly stay here again.
