Wonderful ... we will be back

The cottages were immaculately clean. The breakfast basket and fresh bread each morning was lovely. The natural bushland setting was amazing and relaxing and close to all Yarra Valley had to offer. Dinner at the clubhouse was fabulous. Excellent!!

Been to many farm stay in new zealand and australia, but this is the closest to the kangaroo ever! We were so excited during the drive in from the check in building to see kangaroo all around, then at dusk, wow they just hang around our cottages within meters from our dining table!!
This place is professionally run, it is not like those mom and pop farm, the entrance indicate mainly GOLF RESORT, then with the YERING GORGE COTTAGE slightly smaller, so just drive in about 800 meter you reach the office building to check in, the staff are friendly and professional, helpful and explained everything to us what we needed to know very well. heated up our room before we even arrive, very thoughtful.
The fireplace is prepared for us, Welcome bottle of wine just for me and my wife, kangaroo bouncing around, we just didn't want to leave the cottages once we checked in, so be ready to buy all you need to cook for dinner and check in and relax.
Extremely big bathroom with jacuzzi, bed warmer for cold nights. These place have EVERYTHING!!
By the way, the photo you see up there? it's all REAL! exactly what you see if what you get! Already planning my next visit here again.

Room tip: there are a few cottages type, request for your bed configuration will you we allocated different cottages.

Hi chephrenchua
Thank you for posting such a fantastic review of your stay at Yering Gorge Cottages by The Eastern Golf Club. We are very fortunate to have such an abundance of wild kangaroos and other native wildlife on and around our close to 600-acre property. Preheating the cottage and stacking the fire place for arrival during those cooler months helps to ensure our guests can immediately relax and enjoy our tranquil cottage precinct. Leaving our cottages can be difficult but the Yarra Valley’s many award-winning wineries, restaurants and attractions can really make venturing past our front gate worthwhile. Thanks again for the review and we look forward to greeting you on the return visit, you are “already planning”. Kind regards.

This our third time in 10 years. Without doubt, the most stunning place to stay. Three nights is just perfect.

Golf course was very disappointing. In shocking condition and extremely wet underfoot. Unplayable at present. Needs a lot of work to improve. We only lasted six holes and that's unheard of. Could never recommend.

However, we will definitely be back to stay in Rangeview cottage. Just love it.

Hi KayDavidFitchwell
Thank you for the excellent review of your third stay at Yering Gorge Cottages by The Eastern Golf Club. Your recommendation that “Three nights is just perfect” is great advice for future guests. Staying three nights allows our guests enough time to relax in the peace and tranquillity of our close to 40-acre cottage precinct and to enjoy the host of wonderful attractions the Yarra Valley has on offer. It was unfortunate the heavy rainfall prior to your stay influenced the course condition. We will be completing course drainage works shortly and this will improve the year round condition and playability. I encourage you to bring your clubs when you stay next. Kind regards

We desperately wanted to get away for some fresh air and family time and we couldn't have chosen a better place. On arrival we were given a warm welcome and driven up to our cottage where we were not only blown away by the breath taking views, but by how lovely, clean and welcoming our cottage was. There was nothing that hadn't been thought of, from a breakfast basket full of cereals, fresh bread, milk, fruit and spreads, to chopped wood for the fireplace (oh and also a complimentary bottle of wine). The cottage was sparkling clean and comfortable, while the verandah had a lovely outdoor setting to sit at, looking out over the valley with a drink or enjoying breakfast/dinner cooked either indoors or on the BBQ that also sat on our deck. We ordered both the gourmet breakfast hamper and the gourmet BBQ hamper, both were amazingly yummy and well planned! Our 3yo daughter was so excited to see a great big wombat waddling about, as well as the countless number of kangaroos who bounced around our cottage from the minute we arrived. It's an understatement to say it was hard to leave...,we cannot wait to come back and just spend more time enjoying the green surrounds of the yering gorge cottage grounds. Perfect place to get back to nature and enjoy some family time.

Hi Brooke B
It’s great to hear from you and thank you for reviewing your stay at Yering Gorge Cottages by The Eastern Golf Club. We are approximately 45 minutes-drive from Melbourne city and once here there is plenty of fresh air and wide-open spaces to enjoy. First impressions are most important, our house-keeping staff work very hard to ensure our cottages are at their best when guests arrive for check in from 2pm. Pre-ordering a gourmet BBQ or breakfast hamper to receive on arrival certainly makes everything easy and the complimentary bottle of local wine just adds to our guest’s "Yarra Valley experience". I’m so glad your daughter managed to spot ‘a great big wombat waddling about’. We are fortunate to have such large numbers of native animals and birds frequenting the property. Hopefully next time she will see platypus in the section of Yarra River that runs through our property. Please communicate with us next time you’re booking and we will see if we can assist in making it easier for you to stay longer. Thanks again and I’m glad you found the “perfect place to get back to nature and enjoy some family time”.

Days after booking this hotel, we received emails from Aimee on information with regards to the reservation. Nearer the dates, further information was again provided by Aimee with regards to checking in and optional upgrades. Questions asked were also promptly responded by both Aimee and Brett. I feel that the Hotel and staff truly care about the customers's experience from the email correspondences.

On the day of check in, Brett gave us a quick tour around the club and guided us to our cottage. He is very friendly and gave us a lot of useful information about the grounds and cottage. You feel welcomed immediately.

The stay was great and the view of kangaroos on vast grounds was truly spectacular and calming. We had great fun with the BBQ pit in the cold August evening. The wood fireplace was a great feature despite the fact that there was air conditioner in the cottage. We love listening to the cracking of the burning wood while watch tv and drinking red wine. Note the each stay comes with a bottle of complimentary red or white wine. The next time I am in Yarra Valley, I will definitely stay here again!

Hi Lyegeak
Thank you for reviewing your stay at Yering Gorge Cottages by The Eastern Golf Club and particularly this comment,” I feel that the Hotel and staff truly care about the customer’s experience”. From first contact to well after check out our customer’s experience is our number one priority. The pre-set wood fires and ample supply of fire wood certainly make for a great night in during those cosy winter months. Waking up to large numbers of wild kangraoos happily grazing on our close to 600-acre property is also a great way to start your day. I’m very glad you felt welcomed immediately and we look forward to you “definitely” staying with us again. Kind regards.

This place truly is fabulous. Fantastic views. Private. Great walks. Comfortable furnishings. Warm. Close to a range of wineries, Healesville and a range of other attractions. Shame we weren't there when the clubhouse restaurant was open as we were keen to try it.
