Thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside on the deck eating a delicious meal of Barramundi crispy chips and very fresh salad with great dressing (five stars for the meal) Instantly spoiled by 3 guys smoking, also sitting on the deck right near a sign stating no smoking in outdoor eating area! Obviously locals, as the waitress had a chat and walked off without a word about them smoking.
Will be very reluctant to eat there again ☹️

Good quality home cooked meals, all the classic pub favourites. You won't go hungry. Friendly service and very good prices. Great friendly atmosphere would recommend if you are visiting the area.

We love coming to Walhalla, and usually have lunch at the Wally Pub. The food is good, the ambience is great, and they have the capacity to be able to accommodate big groups such as when the various motorbike groups visit the town.

This is an old-style Aussie pub, close to the remains of what was a flourishing gold mining town, a hundred years ago, that serves nice food and a wide variety of drinks (including alcoholic). There is indoor seating, as well as tables under the eaves outside, and tables in the garden with umbrellas.

Part of the entertainment is one of the staff (the lady who is possibly the owner or manager), who claims that she cannot serve soft drinks in a pint pot, because it will make the beer go flat afterwards. This same phenomenon does not appear to apply to any of the other glasses in the establishment - only the pint pots. So it looks like some sort of silly trick to get the punters to buy more small glasses of soft drinks by refusing the make the pint pot available.

Apart from this piece of entertaining stupidity (which, apart from other things, would suggest that the big glasses are never washed before being used), the Wally Pub is really great and well worth the visit. And if you are driving or have other reasons to want to drink soft drinks, and you are thirsty enough to want a big glass, you may be lucky and find that one of the more sensible members of staff serves you and you are not subjected to ignorant stupidity and fantasy.
