This has to be the worst example of capitalism i have ever witnessed.
After travelling to over two dozen countries around the world i would like to think i know, roughly, what to expect from hotels / AirBnB’s but Lemonthyne managed to bitterly surprise me.

Arriving at reception i was greeted with hostility and incompetence at every level from the sign that states “Due to a change in company policy we are now taking payment on arrival for accommodation” to the complete lack of vegetation and vegan options to the rough as guts decor i was uneasy to the point of cancelation.

For the first time in my life i checked out of a 4 night accommodation package early sinks to get away from the place.

I won’t go on to count the multiple ways that this plays makes one feel completely uneasy but a combination of staff, food options (or lack off) and ridiculous prices result in the honest realisation that i would not stay at Cradle Mountains “Faulty Towers” if they paid me.

Don’t just take my word for it read the reviews, call them (something i foolishly didn’t do based on the standard i was led to believe existed from friends recommendations from there visits a number of years ago.

If your looking for a quiet no tv, computer, Facebook, in the middle of the Forrest for a few days, well this is it. The hiking all around there's waterfalls, rain forests 20 minute drive to Cradle mountian pack a lunch and good walking shoes beautiful. The staff work hard, very clean a little dated ,the menu isn't vegetarian friendly so i would ring first see if they can accommodate as this is your only place to eat . Very relaxing be careful on the drive in.

We stayed here as a family of four for three nights and it was the nicest place we stayed in Tasmania. I could have quite happily stayed here for a week and made daily visits to the beautiful Cradle Mountain.

I would recommend staying a few nights as we experienced four seasons whilst here. On the first day we even had snow! We also had a very foggy day where we couldn't see the mountain and the last day was fine and sunny!

The hotel staff are were genuinely caring and pleasant throughout our stay. The breakfasts and dinners we experienced were lovely and the service was excellent. We loved the complimentary freshly baked bread sent out at dinner each night too!

We loved the pademelon and possum feeding after dinner each night and our family cabin was comfortable and clean with separate rooms for the kids and adults. Bear in mind that this is a relaxing, get away from it all kind of place so the wifi is limited (and it isn't fast) to the lounge area. The lounges are comfortable and the cozy fireplace is a lovely place to relax with boardgames and books available. There is a mini theatre upstairs (above the restaurant) with many DVDs available to borrow. Our kids loved the ones they borrowed to watch in our room.

There was a full size kitchen in our room but we didn't need it because we enjoyed eating in the restaurant and even had an amazing cheese platter for lunch on our cabin's verandah one day!

Room Tip: The family cabin we stayed in was closest to the restaurant and lounge.

We stayed two nights here and once my wife realised there was no WIFI in our room, she was able to relaxed and get away from technology. If your with Telstra you can get two to three bars of service in the carpark. This was a great location being 8km off the road and very quite and peaceful. Our first day we went straight to Cradle Mt and did the Dove Lake walk in low cloud and misty rain. Booking in later that afternoon it was great to sit in front of the log style gas heater which quickly had us warmed up. The room was a great size. The following day we awoke to a sunny day and returned to Cradle Mt to have an amazing sunny day for another tour of Dove Lake. We ate at the retreat restaurant that evening the meal was tasty, well presented and good size. I read a number of reviews stating the meals were a little expensive, but after spending two weeks touring Tassie, the meals were no more expensive than other places we dined.
We also complete the circuit walk of Champagne Falls and Bridal Veil Falls despite being wet and muddy under foot was also a beautiful walk.

Room Tip: Great place to get away from it all

I checked in this place nearly evening. The way to the resort so great and natural.
And the room so neat, everything is great.

The restaurant so cozy and they served our soup so quickly. And the soup so great, I love my potato bacon soup... so yummy....

I like come to visit again and beside that this place close with Cradle mountain and they have tracking. And do the tracking.
