I have been here a few times now, with family, for a staff party and with friends. Spicers Homage is definitely a five star place in terms of food and service. My expreriences here have always been positive. Do yourself a favour and try it out.

Located past Ipswich, nestled in the beautiful bushland is an amazing restaurant. This restaurant. Fairy lights in trees, bench seats by fire pits, horse stables set up and presented with taste. Outdoor coal oven. Ample seating. Best birthday dinner ever! Everything everyone ate and drank was spectacular. Every plated dish was thought out and extremely well presented. Every portion was perfection. Every bite was mind blowing. Every waiter interaction was personable. Every wait time between meals was adequate. It is well worth every dollar you pay. No phots, too busy enjoying the food, ambiance and great conversation. You’ll be back ;)

“WoW”

I discovered Homage via the Master Chef show when Ash Martin did a master class on the show, watching him prepare & cook the dish he demonstrated and talk about the restaurants ethos of farm garden to plate I knew we had to check this place out for ourselves and I am so delighted we did !

From the moment we drove up the drive way we felt as though we had left the hustle & bustle of “real life” behind and entered an oasis hidden in the quintessential Aussie landscape

the smell of the wood fire outdoor oven welcomed us as did the wait staff & chefs in the kitchen or by the outdoor wood fire oven ... it truely was a gastronomic experience ... so much so we didn’t want to leave and wished we could have stayed for days instead of having to return to the real world !!

Homage ~ thank you we cannot wait to return

After read all the highly reviewed comments I decided to give this place a try for a family date night. It was a huge disappointment after all, and we were totally ripped off.

First, it was pitch black from the car park to the restaurant, as there was no adequate lighting or sign to guide visitors to the restaurant, especially in a cold winter night, it was really a safety hazard.

Second, the menu was different from their website. for dinners they only have overly priced 2-3courses meal to choose from, it starts from $75 per person. The barn menu was not available for dinner, which was not indicated on their website

Third, the food was totally average, even poor for the price tag they put on. Despite they clearly try to be creative, but each course of the meal was only luke warm, tiny portions, and with very plain teste.
By the way they charge $14 for house sparking water, how smart is this?!

Fourth, kids meal was also total average. it supposed to be meal with drinks and ice cream, but the drink was never delivered to my kids, and I had to ask twice and waited for 40mins to finally got my Kids ice cream served, considering the restaurant was not busy and full, we were sitting in front of the bar they can see us directly!

Service, the staff were friendly enough, but was not helpful or proactive. We had to ask for service (kids ice cream) and they were always rushing to leave.

The restaurant itself was dark and cold. in a cold winter night, the door was wide open, with no internal aircon, the one fireplace was clearly not enough to generate any Adequate heat.

We were fully aware it was an À la cart restaurant, but everything about this place can only to be described as overpriced and unworthy based on the products they delivered.

Luckily, It cost us $200 to learn the lesson, definitely will not make the trip and go back this place ever again.
