Stayed here on a Saturday night to see the Turtles at Mon Repos. This is a super convenient location for the turtles as its just up the road from the turn-off to the Mon Repos Turtle Centre. Its about 12 minutes from Bundaberg and about 5 minutes from Bargara township where there are lots of restaurants for dinner (we ate at Thai Chilli which was quite nice).

The home has 2 double room upstairs at the front that share a very large verandah. Another room at the rear has a a double and a single bed. Each room has it's own en-suite which separates the two double rooms so there is good privacy. The rooms have a comfy bed and are a little antiquated but to us this just added to the charm of this lovely home stay. There is also central air-conditioning and fans in the rooms.

Those who commented on road noise must be super sensitive as we had absolutely no issues given closed windows (fully screened) and a few infrequent cars.

Outside the rooms is a lounge/TV room where you are offered a nip of port at night and a kitchen where you can make your coffee or tea or filtered water as required. Outside is a pool if you like a dip and the home is surrounded by cane fields and farm lands.

The good humoured and accommodating hosts - Peter and Carolyn - go out of their way to make you feel at home and yet also give you plenty of space to to enjoy your own company.

The included home made breakfast is plentiful and varied and includes cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice, and a full hot breakfast cooked as and when requested. They also cater for vegetarian options.

This really is a great option for staying in and around Bargara and in our humble opinion much better than the big motel/hotel options, much more economical, and you are assisting a lovely local hard working family.

They took wonderful care of us. Very comfortable. Beautiful property. We travelled as two adults, an infant and a toddler, and never wanted for anything. Breakfast was great. Rooms comfy. Just 5 minutes out of Bargara CBD and 10-15 minutes from Bundaberg.

The room was nice and the house has lots of extras and a Comfy bed. Pool out the back. Breakfast was cooked and a beautiful fruit salad (and cereal) for starters. The port and chocolates in the evening was a nice touch. Road noise was an issue for us as we live in a cul de sac and not used to traffic noise( Friday night). FREE wifi . A small flat screen tv mounted on the wall would be nice in the room so we could stretch out and relax in private. But the lounge room had a tv which was just outside our room. Rooms were upstairs so if you have a mobility issue then maybe not for you. Located right between Bundaberg and Bargara. Great value for the dollars.

This was my first time staying at a B and B. Personally it is probably not the style for me, but I must say that if you do like this style of accommodation then you will definitely like this place. It is very clean, comfy bed and the hosts go above and beyond. Fantastic breakfast, lovely port and chocolates at night. There is a bit of road noise but there isn't much traffic at night so it doesn't bother you. It is half way between Bundy and Bargara and you can pick up some fresh produce close by.

We had a lovely stay here, very clean & a great ambience. The attention to detail all round was a very high standard & we will definitely be back on future business trips. The breakfast & coffee was great too. Surrounding garden a credit to the owners too & being surrounded by cane fields another experience.

Room Tip: Verandah rooms are close to the road but traffic not really an issue overnight.
