A day out to Rochdale has to include a visit to Wetherspoons Regal Moon. This former cinema has been sympathetically converted into the spacious bar/restaurant we see today. All the architectural features have be retained from the magnificent foyer of the cinema & the walls are covered with memorabilia from the golden age of movie-making, with many interesting photos & posters etc.
At the time of our visit (26/10/15) a Real Ale Festival is on, ' the world's biggest' - across the whole of the Wetherspoons operations & the choice is jaw-dropping! Here in Rochdale my friend & I were served efficiently - it was lunchtime & quite busy & although we didn't eat, many customers were enjoying meals from the extensive menu.
This is a very special place & the reminders of a bygone age just add to the atmosphere.
