Stayed here before an early morning flight to Orlando on a park & stay package, car was absolutely fine for the 2 weeks, no problems there. Taxi service to the airport was ok, bit chaotic really, as the previous poster says lots of hotel guests were waiting for taxis at same time (included free in the park & fly package) and even though we had booked ours when checking in the afternoon before for 4.30am, it didn't arrive until 4.45am, I too had to go ask at reception where it was as other guests were being picked up while we stood and waited, one couple had only ordered theirs that morning and were picked up before us!!?? So it was a bit stressful hanging around when you know you have to be checking in at the airport.
The family room we had was tiny with old bashed about furniture, but the bed was huge (too big for such a small room) and with a sofa bed squashed right next to it. It was also very dark and felt a bit claustrophobic but we were only staying one night so for that reason it was fine, main thing was it was clean. I wouldn't like to spend any length of time in it though because of the size & being so dark. It's also true about the walls being paper thin, I never sleep very well before an early flight anyway so I was conscious of everyone that walked by our room and there seemed to be someone that sounded like they were washing dishes behind our bed!! I know there was a door next to our room that wasn't a door to another room but perhaps was the cleaners cupboard but I couldn't understand why they would be washing dishes late at night??!! Luckily it didn't disturb the rest of my family who are all, luckily, heavy sleepers!
We used the pool, this was lovely, large & very clean.
Never had a meal in hotel, left before breakfast and we drove into Altrincham (about 10mins drive if that) the night before and had a delicious meal in the slug & lettuce, very reasonable and tasty!
To sum up ok for one night before an early flight but don't expect a lie in if you have a later flight!!

Checked in on the Saturday afternoon to stay the night as we had a 06.20 flight to Tunisia on the Sunday. Room basic but clean, bathroom quite good with a good shower. Had a meal in the restaurant which was very disappointing. It wasn't very busy, only 2 staff to serve and when the food finally arrived it was cold. The people that ate in the bar area were pleased with their food so shall try that next time. The wake up call was on time but beware of the transfer to the airport. It was booked for 04.00 there were about 30 guests that had to be at the airport by 04.30.....was expecting a bus but individual taxis finally arrived (after numerous complaints to reception) at 04.45 all a bit too stressful for the start of a holiday. The taxi drivers had been on shift the whole night and unfortunately somebody had puked in our taxi so felt dreadful by the time we got to the airport. On return to U.K it took 1 phone call for a taxi to come and pick us up and take us back to the hotel to pick up our car. Parking was good in the long stay car park at the hotel and a smooth exit.

The hotel I used because of a business meeting not personal choice.
My room was very nice and staff got us complimentary something which we had forgot.
Staff polite. Beauty salon tiny .
There were nice grounds.
Breakfast was ok just .

The worst fault about the hotel was the location. It was called the airport hotel but was not near the airport . You had to catch a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. Then to go into Manchester You caught the same shuttle bus to the airport and got the train .
The hotel advertised taxies as being a certain price but we discovered not so in fact they were double what hotel said.
We spent a lot on fairs travelling on the shuttle bus and then on the train to the centre of Manchester.
To eat you either have to get something in the hotel or make the long journey to Manchester.
Not sure if I would use it again mainly because of the location .
The pillows were labelled soft or firm which was nice .

Stayed for one night with our two small boys before flying out to Rome. Reception staff extremely helpful and took the time to have a few personal words with the boys. We used the pool which was an added bonus to the trip. The shuttle service was quick and efficient- we called on our return and were picked up within 10 minutes to return to the hotel. In the past we have used other airport parking and waited ages for transfers. We used the opportunity to extend our family break with a visit to Salford Quays. We have already booked Holiday Inn again for our summer holiday flights and will try the spa treatment and evening meal this time. Total bargain - we paid not great deal more than airport parking alone.

This must be the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at.
Let's start with the room; When I go to bed at night I expect 2 people to be able to get in bed at the same time. No the rooms are so small that the double (not king size) is pushed up against one wall. The walls are paper thin. Because this hotel is near the airport, there are lots of late check ins, and I actually woke up thinking somebody was in the room with us, but no it was next door, and I could hear every word they said.
In the early 1980s this hotel was called Valley Lodge and from the state of the furnishings and carpets it is clear that they date from this era. Ok, I prepaid the room £48 for 1 night but I thought I was booking a Holiday Inn but this hotel does not have the same quality. You get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.
