We really enjoyed our 3 courses here; but absolutely the star of the show was the Salt & Pepper Monkfish main course, wow! Really juicy pieces of monkfish tail in a really light, crispy, non greasy batter with a generous sprinkling of salt, pepper & chilli on a bed of crispy noodles. The best Chinese main course we've ever had.
Also worth a mention was our other main course, Tai Po Crispy CHilli chicken, delicious. Deep fried chicken in a sweet, spicy, tangy sauce; not like the gloopy, syrupy sweet you often get at lesser Chinese restaurants that could be confused for a desert!
Soup & ribs were excellent also, but the mains really stole the show; make sure you get a side of salt & pepper chips also, fantastic accompaniment.
This place is more expensive than most other Chinese restaurants I've been to, but to put it simply, it's better, you get what you pay for. It's not just the food that's better, it's everything; you can't help but notice how many waiting staff there are for example, which means the service is so much friendlier, less rushed than normal. The staff don't act like you asking them for a beer is a huge inconvenience to them, which makes a refreshing change from the silent, surly, ruthlessly efficient service you'll often find at Chinese restaurants.
Can't wait to come back!
