Ideal locAtion for accessing north Cornwall.
John and Yvonne very welcoming, very accommodating. Barn was very nice, would recommend. We stayed with a 2 year old who slept well and was kept amused in the secure private garden.
Took our greyhound on holiday for the first time so was a bit apprehensive. Accomodation great with private garden, seating, and safe for children & pets. Also being a couple we only needed to use downstairs as everything you need is on one level. Would definatly use again.
Just returned from an incredible week long break at Ivy Barn . Easy to find , just off the A39 , but also tucked away enough not to disturbed by traffic noise. Brilliant views over the wonderful Widemouth Bay . The accommodation was delightful, warm and comfy . Easy communication with the owners .It's just a short drive to many of Cornwall's great assets. Would definitely recommend.
After we had finally found the property due to poor signs both on the Main Road and after entering the farm land, surrounding the premise. We were treated to a lovely welcome pack of biscuits, tea, coffee milk and wine. We were met by the hosts who were extremely friendly. The kitchen had plenty of storage. However the oven was difficult to gauge as there were no instructions and the oven temperature was impossible to read. We were also told to beware of the flooring as it was extremely soft by the patio doors. In addition we had problems with lighting as the switch on the staircase controlling the upstairs balcony lights kept on arcing out. This in turn affected the television signal. There was also a problem with the shaving light not working and the shower needed a new head. The owner was made aware of the problems. There is an enclosed garden which is directly accessible by patio doors. Other properties in this small complex had to access the gardens via the front door due to gardens being at the side of their properties. Felt this property was more suited to couples than a family. A four poster bed was situated downstairs with an en-suite walk in shower, but please note their is a ledge/step in the en-suite. Upstairs on the balcony/mezzanine floor were a single and a double bed. The bathroom for upstairs was situated on the ground floor. Furniture consisted of a 5 seater settee and 2 wicker chairs. There is wooden flooring downstairs with a small mat. Games, books, television and DVD's are provided. A sea view is possible by standing outside on the front step and gazing out to the horizon beyond the fields approx 1 mile away. However buzzards can be seen on a regular basis. A refundable deposit of £100 is/has been refunded by post as the owner took our name and address. I was also asked if I had paid for my dog (I had) the owner told me she would check this and also as my son may have come to the property would have tried to charge me more. i was then told my dog could stay for free. Need a knack with the key as temperamental when locking the front door. This property has the A 39 running close by (approx 40 yards) away. This has to be negotiated when entering and leaving the main entrance to the property.
