We stayed at Waldrand with our children 10 and 13 for a ski week-end in January. The hotel charming. We were welcomed personally by the owner, who is very nice and helpful. We stayed in a family room, newly renovated and very convenient for a family as it features a double bed and a bunk bed with a door separating the two rooms. The hotel is very kids friendly, with a special play corner for smaller children. It is conveniently located walking distance from the town center and some of the ski lifts. The owner was very helpful and we could organize our ski passes directly at the reception. The buffet breakfast was very nice and we had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. Overall very good value. I would definitely recommend it for families.

Room tip: Simmental family room perfect for family with 2 children

Nice, small family hotel in beautiful Simmental. Comfortable, recently renovated rooms.
Quiet location within walking distance of the town of Lenk. Skilifts and hiking paths are close. Simple restaurant.

Hotel & Staff were excellent. As a ski hotel though it should be proactive about providing details of the resorts and whether the lifts are working, predicted temperature, recommended places for lunch etc Unfortunately we walked in ski boots carrying equipment for 10 minutes only to find the drag lifts not working so we had to return to the hotel & take the car. There is only one bus per hour & this is still a 5 min walk away. A dedicated van or similar would be a great asset to this wonderful hotel's amenities.

Room tip: Room 10, not 4

We stayed here over Christmas and we really enjoyed our stay. It is a cozy and friendly family run hotel. We felt at home there and it was a big plus point that our dog was so welcome there. The location is good, quiet but not at all far from the centre of the village. The breakfast buffet had lots of choice. They have a pretty garden which i think in summer would be a nice place to relax and have a drink. The only negative point was that unfortunately some of the courses of the quite expensive Christmas dinner we had really did not live up to expectations. However despite this i would certainly still recommend this hotel.

We were there for a weekend with our kids (4&7) and everything was perfect. Good food in the restaurant, toys available in a separate area for the kids, great and friendly service, lovely decorated rooms with great view... We'll go again next time!
