stayed here on our honeymoon in july 2005, beautiful apartment, helpful friendly staff, little shop for the essentials, and paddys bar for a couple of drinks if you didnt fancy town, absolutely loved it, fast forward july 2013, arrived to find reception closed, little shop and bar closed to become a kite surfing hire place, apartment was shoddy, rusty bath, rusty shower, holes in tiles on bathroom floor, dangerous kettle that spewed out steam from above the handle where a peice was missing, bird muck all over the balcony and rail, boiler exploded on second to last day, spewing boiling water all over the balcony, most staff friendly apart from the main receptionist, who seemed to have a major dislike of the english, avoid at all costs

We got the studio with sea view: and the view was really amazing!
Overall, the room was quite simple, but everything we needed was there, comfortable enough to spend two weeks there. The staff was helpful, we had a few problems with the electricity and they were solved in a couple of hours. It's not very close to Corralejo, ~45min walking to get to the harbour, but very close to the beaches. The bus service in there is not that good, really few buses and only to go to Puerto del Rosario or El Cotillo... our advice in to rent a bike for trips in the north of the island, and a car to travel further south.

Room Tip: Definitely sea-view!

I really liked the flat we booked here.It might seem in the middle of nowhere, but I actually enjoyed that it was not in the middle of the busy city nearby.
There was not problem finding it - just took a bus from the airportm, told the driver where we wanted to go, and also other passengers helped in identifying the bus stop we have to get off at.

It was close to the beach, quiet, and quite cheap for what it offers - we had breakfast on the balcony and a large comfortable bed.

I would go there again.

Room 106 - great sea views over the dunes. This is our second time at the Caleta Del Mar. First time in an apartment, which are lovely. This time in a studio and I agree with current reviews that the studios are tired and ready for a refurbishment/upgrade. The staff are very friendly and the staff clean the studios and replace towels daily. Ash for the remote for TV but channels are entirely Spanish. Ask for the wifi code from reception and sit inside for better reception. There are a few books available in reception in English and other languages.
We got a taxi from the airport, however, Javier on reception booked us a transfer to get back to the airport at only 23euros for two, which was direct and very prompt. The pool bar is rubbish and very expensive for both food and drinks.
Hiperdino supermarket was a 15min walk, The new corkys bar a 10min stroll past Atlantis Bahia real hotel ( same side). 2 euros for large beer and they also do cider.
We walked into town in 20mins. We enjoy walking, so no big deal. Husband paid for 2 weeks windsurfing at Flag beach, expensive, equipment tired and limited stock.
Next time rene egli and sotovento for the sports.

Room Tip: Room 106 for view. Don't book breakfast. Book transfers rather than taxis
