Hotel Riu Palace Tres Islas
Ranked #11 of 45 Hotels in Corralejo

Our 15th visit to one of our favourite hotels re our other reports
The hotel offers total value for money , it's a four star hotel with 10 star staff the hotel is cleaned within an inch of its life and all staff without exception go out of their way to make for a great holiday .
Drinks are a little on the expensive side but you do get good measures , food is very good and hot !! You will not come out of the Resteraunt without finding something nice to eat and you also have the option of the specialist crystal Resteraunt .
We did notice men in the Resteraunt for evening meal with shorts on which has always been a tabo , we hope standards are not being allowed to slip ?
The other thing we noticed for the first time was large air beds / inflatables allowed in the swimming pool we don't know of another hotel we visit which allow inflatables into the swimming pool !!
The Tres Islas go out of their way to accommodate your every request the hotel is located on one of the Worlds finest beaches and location wise would be very hard to beat.
So if your looking for a great hotel , very clean with good food in fantastic location
Don't hesitate to Book , if your looking for loud music , pool games , and noise I guess you would be better looking elsewhere .
If you looking for relaxing , quiet time in clean hotel then book with confidence .
We have already booked again for 3 weeks over Christmas and new year and look forward to meeting old friends once again.
The hotel is predominantly German but we have experienced nothing but good manners from our German guests who go out of their way to talk in English .
Weather in August was hot 30c and air con in room was more than satisfactory .
All in a great value for money hotel could you get better ? I guess you could but would cost another 1k

Room Tip: Sea view best in summer rear view best in Winter

Heading towards the end of our week in the Riu Palace Tres Islas. This hotel has been beautiful but might benefit from a little freshen up. That in no way would stop us from returning to it. Our ages are 63 year old male; spouse 54.
The rooms although a little tired are spotless complete with mini-fridge / bar, bath robes, hair drier, safe, huge comfortable seats, large plastic ones in the balcony, tv with limited programmes, air con and Ceiling fan but no tea making stuff, so bring your own (as we did).
We opted out of a sea view (oddly enough, the sea view was cheaper; not sure why), I favour of a very quiet room overlooking the car park at the front entrance. We like total peace and quiet so did not want to overlook the pool / entertainment area. Since the entertainment proved to be low volume / low key, our fears were unfounded. We'll opt for a sea view next time.
The pool area could do with a bit more hosing down to address sand but this is not a major problem.
Two good sized pools are clean. Gardens are well maintained. Bar / pool service was good.
Breakfast includes fish, cold meats, cheese, breads, variety of fruit, yoghurt, cava (if you like alcohol that early), tea & coffee.
Buffet Dinner was varied. Load of fish. Lots of salad. Several cooked meats and a carvery section. Plentiful. Overall food at dinner was good (but not very good). There was the option of a free waiter served dinner in the Krystal room but we never took up this option.
There is a laid back atmosphere to the whole complex and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The highlight of this hotel is its location; situated in the middle of no where, on a stunning beach with gentle waves fur to an almost constant breeze. The breeze keeps one cool and makes sun lounging bearable. But, don't be deceived, be sure to cream up.
We are on our last day, out of room by 11:00 on Saturday. I believe there is a courtesy room made available.
45 minute trip back to the airport and 4.5 hours flight home (depending on the wind direction) to Glasgow.
Our room was 105. Would I return? Yes I'd return in a minute. Will consider booking for next spring / early summer.
I visited the adjacent Riu (all inclusive hotel that is scheduled for a refurb). The atmosphere was quite different as (so I was informed) was the food. Nevertheless, it has access to the same beautiful beaches.
For shopping and / tonight life, take a bus €1.40 each way to Corralejo or if you are feeling like exercise, walk it in about 75 minutes by Road, longer by beach.
Love this place but it might be too quiet for some.

We are a hard working family and we wanted a holiday where we could relax and spend some quality time together. My wife is a primary school teacher so we were quite selective as to where we go on holiday, as we would rather have better quality and preferably stay away from screaming kids etc. For similar minded families whom like peace and quiet, this hotel is perfect.

Yes it is old fashioned yet we found the hotel to have the right balance of quality without being too stuffy. We could relax and enjoy the hotel, the island, the good quality food etc. All kids were well behaved etc.

Riu offer a club style hotel range so if you like things a little more rowdy, then that option would be better for you. Please ignore other reviews about it being a dated old people's home, that is simply sour grapes as people have made the wrong holiday choice.

Sun, sea, pool, quiet, food, cocktails, bar and cabaret, a true relaxing holiday. If that's your thing, this is for you. Not run down, simply 90's five star quality. If it isn't broke......you get my meaning.

We shall certainly go back.

We have been here a few times. Its a great hotel right on a great beach with two fine pools. We think its very hard to beat. The number of people like us who come back many times must be proof of that. Excellent staff - good food - small gym - tennis courts - free wifi.

Yes its an ugly hotel that would not getting planning permission now but its location is just fantastic. Its probably best for families with small children and people who like peace and quiet. Younger people and teenagers would probably choose to be closer to town and have more going on. But its the hotels isolation that make it so good for us.

Yes some of the interior is a bit dated but its in good overall condition and the staff look after the garden and the customers brilliantly.

Hopefully the restaurant manager will one day agree to make 1/2 of the outside sitting area for breakfast non smoking - its a shame for non smokers to have to put up with people smoking next to us if we want to have breakfast outside.

We arrived on the 19th of August, our 2nd visit this year. I requested the room we had stayed in when we went in May, we were very fortunate to get the same room again, the reception staff are very accommodating. Everything was very nice again, the only thing that has change is quite a few men at the evening meal had shorts on, which it clearly states you are not allowed. There was even a couple of skip hats. My husband never packed shorts for the evening as the last 3 visits there was definitely no men in shorts. We will definitely visit again in the not too distant future, as the location on the beach is fantastic.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a sea view well worth it.
