Proas sits above the Marina and the evening sun shines in as it sets. This is a really elegant restaurant, beautifully laid out, with a terrace overlooking the marina. The Manageress is friendly and happy to help.
There is a Vegetarian Paella on the menu which can be ordered half a day in advance. Like all the other Majorcan restaurants, they were only too happy to ensure that the food would be suitable for the Vegan guest in our party. The Majorcan people in general really understand how to give good service and all those we met went the extra mile – service that we have seldom seen in England.
Amongst the favourite starters were Fritto Mallorquin (livers with onion and potatoes), Tumbet (a traditional vegetable dish) and Trempo (finely chopped peppers onion and tomatoes seasoned to perfection).
The vegetarian paella was delicious and well worth the advance order. We also enjoyed pork tenderloin (best dish of the night), suckling pig and sole. All were beautiful.
We would definitely return to this restaurant and indeed tried, but they were fully booked, so plan in advance.
