A very attractive low rise hotel, converted from an old Olive Oil Mill, the perfect location for a quiet weekend away. Beautiful, peaceful location, with plenty of in-house activities if wanted (pool, attractive gardens and easy access to village of Riofrio). Service is generally excellent, but food only average, however there are two or three fantastic restaurants in Riofrio village. Rooms are a bit tired, especially bathrooms, but immaculately clean and with great views. Free Wifi only available in public areas (no signal in rooms). Only open during Spring and Summer months.

Room Tip: Garden Rooms provide the best access, but upper floor, pool facing, rooms give best views

We stopped here for an overnight whilst travelling Ronda. We booked a family suite for 140€. The room was very dated and needed refurbished.
The location of the hotel is beautiful and the views are amazing.
We had dinner in the hotel terrace - it was ok - not fantastic but ended up quite expensive.
Breakfast was a real disappointment. Cold buffet with very limited choice.

Stayed here a couple of years ago. We weren't happy with the room we were allocated but our agent had not told us there was a wedding that weekend. The hotel were very apologetic and changed the room the next night for a nice spacious room

The hotel is easy access to a good main road and a very short distance from Riofrio where the trout restaurants are excellent. Lots of parking and amazing views over the countryside. Its not the sort of hotel you would get in say Dubai or Singapore but as Spanish hotels go I think its lovely and have booked for 2016 - not using an agent !

I recently stayed at the Hotel Almazara with my family and approximately 25 friends. We choose the hotel because my husband and I got married there in 2006. The setting is lovely and we were very comfortable and very well looked after by the friendly staff. We had 6 young children staying with us and they were well looked after - cot beds and high chairs available and the pool area has a fence so it was child friendly. They loved playing in the paddling pool.
We had several meals at the hotel. Breakfast was great; fresh fruit, bread, yoghurts, cereal, eggs, hams and cheeses. There were snacks available throughout the day and a good menu for the evenings.
The pool is not heated but was fine to use on sunny days, we had temps of around 20-25 degrees in mid sept. There are lots of beds and chairs around the pool area and we had massages organised one day by a local lady at very good prices.
The bed rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. There was wifi that worked in most of the hotel most days.
The staff couldn't have been more friendly and some spoke some English. Saskia at reception speaks fluent english and i had email contact with Ana in english. Marcello,Juan and Eli looked after us very well and made us feel very comfortable and welcome.
You can walk easily (20 mins) to the village of Riofrio where there is the excellent Paco Rama restaurant as well as a couple of others and the sturgeon farm. Try the smoked sturgeon at Paco Rama, the local speciality.
I wouldn't hesitate to go back again with friends and family. Thank you very much.

This hotel is rated as 4 star but fails to have a 4 star service. The approach to the hotel is very pleasant but that is one if it's only positive features. The reception is often vacant of staff. There are only a couple of English speaking staff, but most of the staff are helpful. During my nine night stay the hot water was off on six occasions. The food is okay but unusually for Spain the kitchen closes by 1030/11 most nights. The air conditioning is intermittent, that is possibly to warm you up after your cold shower. The decor is dated and tatty. One of the room failed to have a flush mechanism in the toilet. The bathroom fixtures are rusting. Other guests complained of showers and taps missing or needing repair. There is no fridge in the room, but there is a space for it. The safe had the keypad hanging off. Generally the whole place needs a refurb both cosmetically and with it general mechanics.
