Owner description: Taylor’s, accepted by most wine authorities to be the greatest of all port shippers, invites you to a pleasant and informative tour of its famous lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia. During the tour the visitor will be given the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of Port wine, as well as that of the House of Taylor Fladgate making it one of the oldest Port companies.

Great port visit at the top of the hill! Taylor's Port provided a fantastic experience where we were able to enjoy a scenic overlook, sit outside and take in the beautiful courtyard weather (they have plenty of indoor seating as well), and enjoy some snacks (the cheese plate and ham plates were very good). The port was good (although we preferred other port places), and prices were reasonable. Service was fantastic as the staff was very attentive, friendly, and provided great recommendations.

More than anything, go to Taylor's Port for the view. In the evening you can get an absolutely stunning view of the sun setting over the courtyard and across the river. The picturesque courtyard also was relaxing and had roosters roaming around it, which added to the ambiance. Overall, a great visit that was recommended by locals!

Would give them a lower rating of it were possible. Visited last week for our 20th anniversary. Wife was so excited because of their reputation. Sat at the tasting area for over 30 minutes making eye contact and making attempts to get service without success. Tried to speak to someone in charge and they were indifferent to our concerns. Guess they don't like people from the U.S.

Not a portwine fan, but it is worth a visit once you are in Porto. Intersting audio tour and the advantage is that you do not need to book in advance or come at a certain time - you can come there whenever during their opening hours, get the audioguide and enjoy your tour.
Our guide book said that in the end of the tour you get to taste three different portwines, this apparently changed nowadays to just two. But it was very nice to taste the portwine in the beautiful english-style garden.
Worth a visit even if you are not really into portwines.

We visited this particular port house as it was very near to our hotel.
The receptionist was not particularly friendly and the tour was quite convoluted and not particularly easy to follow as it was self-guided and relied on taking the correct turns.
Worth doing to learn more about Port but I would have preferred a more personal approach.

It was a bit of a hike up trought the narrow stret with an even narrower pavement. A one way traffic light system for cars. Construction work to your right. Spectacular views of the river and the reconstruction below. After the tour, just chill out in the garden with a cool "white chip port", the waiter was a charming old chap.
We took the water taxi back across the Douro
