Casa do Visconde Chanceleiros is a real Gem. Ursula and her team together with the beautiful and cozy facilities with amazing valley/vineyard views make for a fantastic stay. Our room had the sweetest grapes lined throughout the roof edge at arm's reach, yum. Free port wine in your room included. Explore and find the sweet fig tree and almond trees. Breakfast was delicious. Dinner is planned and made by the amazing chef Adelaide. The menu is set so if you are someone with many food restrictions (difficult eater imo), find yourself another restaurant. Otherwise, sit down in the terrace, relax and just be surprised by whatever they bring you that evening. The delicious food is always paired with local wines. It's like being at someone's home. Portions are very generous. We stayed two nights and loved every single bit of it. Yes, we were lucky during our stay no loud kids were roaming around. It is a kids friendly place. Make an educated decision if you are coming during summer breaks and can't stand children. As for me and my wife, we would come back in a heartbeat.

Booked late but still enjoyed a lovely Double room. This was spacious with tea making facilities, bathroom amenities, bathrobes but also a lovely extra of a decanter of Port to be enjoyed during the visit. The room was clean, with a large double bed and even logs and fireplace for the winter. Outside was a small courtyard with vines and grapes providing shade whilst there was a more private area to enjoy the morning sun and a cup of tea.
Buffet breakfast has a reasonable selection on offer and is up at the main house in the glass dining room affording views across the vineyards.
We enjoyed evening meals at the property which was accompanied by a selection of local wines for each course. Both food and wine were fine for a charge of 38 Euros. The location limits the ability to find restaurants nearby.
The property is about 10mins drive from Pinhao along narrow hillside roads with parking adjacent to the property.
There are I believe 12 cottage style rooms located a round a good swimming pool with ample sun beds and shades. There is also a BBQ area, which was used for one evening meal.
Our only disappointment was that there were unruly children in the afternoon (screaming at times) at the swimming pool who were inadequately supervised or disciplined by parents. Rather sad for guests other than them.
Overall a lovely spot to enjoy a few days rest and relaxation.

My husband and I just spent five nights at Chanceleiros and wish we could go right back! The hotel is on a unique old property that has been immaculately restored by Ursula and her family. She and Adelaide and the rest of the staff made our visit even more wonderful. They work very hard to make sure their guests enjoy themselves and it shows.

We ate dinner there all five nights and the food was excellent and portions were more than generous. I only wish Adelaide would write a cookbook!

We can't wait to go back! Thank you to Ursula, Adelaide, the family and the staff for making our visit so great!

...that hasn't already been said about this wonderful place. Ursu!a, Adelaide and the rest of the staff are terrific. The rooms were great and the view to die for. Excellent breakfast comes with the price of the room, which, by the way, costs about the same as a mid range American hotel chain. Do yourself a favor if you have the good fortune to be in the Douro River valley and stay here.

My husband and I had an amazing stay ! We enjoyed every minute of it, the view is stunning, the food is delicious, but mostly the atmosphere is so welcoming and homy that it makes it perfect. Ursula, Adelaide and the whole team were very kind, and one can feel that every detail was thought of, in the whole house, in the garden, and in the bedrooms. We will definitely be back with great pleasure, but will avoid the months of July and August though The kids were in the place in the swimming pool, not the quietest of times !
