We returned from the Stella D'Oro after staying for one week

The Hotel is a little tricky to find, as it had no obvious sign, but once the taxi driver had asked the chap over the road, we were there. We were late. We'd missed the last bus but Monika in the hotel had stayed up to wait for us and was there with keys in hand and understood we just wanted to get our bags dropped off and into bed. There was no fuss about us being later than expected. Which was a relief.

Anyway, we found the Stella D'oro a clean hotel. Everything was pretty spotless. Our room was at the front of the hotel which gave us a spacious balcony area and a good view along the lido.

The hotel is really handily located.Near the bus station (15 minute walk) Sealife (handy time filler) and 50 yards from the beach.

The double bed mattress was a little hard but I put the two spare blankets on top of the mattress but under the sheet and slept more peacefully that way. I would have spoken to hotel staff to have it changed and I'm sure they would have acted accordingly, but it wasnt that bad.

Breakfast was good, bread rolls, sweetbreads, ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, fruit, juice, cereal, yoghurt, croissants etc. Enough to keep us interested for a week!!

We had two evening meals. There is a small fixed menu with three starters, three mains and three puds to choose from. I had a fish dish on the first night, slightly not to my palate but had a chicken forno the next evening which was tasty but not spectacular. Jemima, my daughter, had a lovely pizza the first night but didnt like the chicken on the second night. The evening meals were 5 euros each per night, so we really couldnt complain, but preferred to eat out having discovered that eating at the Lido really isnt that expensive and we had a greater choice there.

The staff arranged a day trip to Milan for us by train. She spent a good 30 minutes booking tickets and really, really helpfully sorted out the whole thing for us. And that is what would bring us back there again. They also gave us free beach passes, which was great.

In a nutshell, the Hotel Stella D'Oro is in a superb location, very clean, very friendly and very, very helpful. Food was a little disappointing but if you're on a tight budget or if it's your 1st time in Italy and feel you need some help, then I can highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Front rooms are great, sunny most of the day, with a little noise that subsided at 11pm.

Very kindly and helpful staff. Perfect location. Very good balance between price and comfort. Rooms are large and comfortable with balcony and air-conditioner - the only problem is it does not work all the time, only after 12 o'clock till 23 . Nearest piazza is so noisy in the evening, but if you close the door - room is quiet. Private beach and chairs are nearest to the hotel and this is very comfortably. Parking is too small, but have a option to use nearest private parking 100-150 meters from the hotel. I wish to all nice stay and rest in this hotel.

This hotel is really a friendly place. The staff is very helpful, polite and you feel really you are a guest.
You have to choose this hotel with at least half-board, because all the meals were fabulous. Very tasty, very delicious. You can choose from different menus for lunch and dinner, and beside that there are rich buffet tables. You will love it I am sure.
The hotel is placed in a very central place, so you can easily access the sea as well as the evening's street life. There is a beautiful park near the hotel where every evening there are some kind of happenings. (junk yard, vendors, antiques,)
The hotel also very recommended for with children.

You have free parking for you car which is a great benefit because you can not parking (or driving!) on the main street from 8pm to 6am due to very intensive street-life. But, you have to parking about 2-300m further in a reserved parking lot. It is okey, you don't use you car often here.

The hotel offers for free bicycles even with ones equipped with child-seat. This is a really important point in Jesolo. If you have already been there, you know what I am talking about. Really fun to cycling on the night shopping streets of Jesolo. The streets are very crowded every night, no cars allowed to use the main street, and there is separate lines for bicycles. But be prepared to use your bike's ring for foot passengers. They are crazy.

You have a reserved place with chairs and umbrella at the beach included in the hotel fares. The sea is really great here. Warm and with soft sand.

And about cons. We had a relatively small room. (But this was because of our low budget (no.229)
There were no balcony, and any facility that helps you to dry out your wet beach towels and swimsuits. There were no table and enough shelves in the room. The lift was really slow. TV channels were only Italian except a few ones and the signals were really bad. The proper working of the air conditioner was depending of your neighbor. (This is some kind of split system, I don't know)

Despite the cons which are really does not matter I can highly recommend this hotel with at least half-board with a room with balcony.

Give it a try.

These words above all are my personal impressions you can live it differently.

Room Tip: definitely a room with balcony

Very good location - in the middle of the main promenade, the building is in front of fontain, and 3 min from the sea. The beach is clean and very good for adults and children. The water is not deep and there is sand. The beach equipment is included in price in very comfortable to lay or seat. A lot of places around beach to get snack and relax ( kiosks and hotels bars). There are very good range of restaurants in the area. We ordered meals several times in the hotel and it was very good as well so we do not mind to have a half-pension next time. The managers/owners - 3 young men - give good tips about dining places (some of them fancy and more expensive ther regular ones, but very worthy) and shopping and they are very friendly and helpfull. Sometimes they work in the bar or provide services during diner - it was great and professional. Room is ok, not big, but clean and has a balcony. The next door hotel room people were noisy and we could hear ther every time when they are in their room, but it just was 2 last days of our stay so we did not care about changing room. Good coffe and ice-cream at every corner even at the end of the season. Do not miss to take free bycycles in the hotel and take a trip around! It was my favorite place in the the Italy for summer holiday till now! Next year we are going to come back and bring our relatives!
