We had a good holiday in umbria..the appartment was very basic but had all you needed for a weeks stay..the kitchen has all the crockery & pots, pans utensils etc ..the owners are very nice people and made us feel welcome, the local food shop in the village has very friendly staff and very helpfull but are very expensive so we didn't shop they much.the co-op is a fabulous supermarket and has lots of great fish, cheese, veg we used this a lot it's about 15mins in a car to get there..the area we stayed in has some fabulous views and is very quite, infact we really didn't see that many people in any of the local villages the whole time we were there!!! What ever time of the day we went out nothing was ever open!! We never saw the local market open and the pizza takeaway is closed and up for sale!! The weather wasn't very kind to us so we only used the small pool a couple of times..we visited lots of places Assisi was one of our favourites really beautiful ..cortona is a very special places we bought lots of crockery in a fabulous family shop...it's within the walls and very charming...the garden of the apartment is shared and you have to walk passed the owners apartment to get to it,the table and chairs and the pool are also not private you do however have the small pool to yourself ..when we looked at the pictures of the house befor we booked you couldn't see the owners apartment and it looks like it's all yours well that's how we saw it anyway...but the owners do say they live downstairs...but for us it wasn't private enough..the owners are very nice and friendly and we shared a meal with them I cooked some and they cooked some!!! There is lots of dos &donts to read about the apartment far to many for us !!! It would have been great to have had a electric kettle !! God that took ages to boil !!! Everything was very clean so too was the bedding..oh yes the bed we had only the bottom half of the apartment as only 2 of us..we really would have liked a proper double bed !! Instead of 2 single beds pushed together!! Not at all comfy..my one word of advise is to take care when getting in and out of the shower there's nothing to hold on to and gets very slippery..all these views on this house are our own personal ones you may find them different...the washing machine is downstairs under the apartment you have to arrange to use with the owners..1st wash is covered with you rental cost..any other times you wish to use machine again is 5 Euros per wash...we had some very good sunsets while we were there..we only wish we had seen all the sunflowers and the back of the house...
You will not be dissappointed with this beautiful Villa. We stayed only a week, but fell in love with the place. Rob is really charming (did not get to meet with Jane as she was away), and he even brought us on a tour of a nearby town, which was really interesting. The weather was fabulous and we had lots of barbecues by the pool. We visited a new town every day and one was nicer than the other! The only downside was we only stayed a week!

As all the other reviews have said it is a very comfortable and welcoming rural retreat with a lovely host (we only met Robas Jane was in England).
The house is lovely - we had two bedrooms (there is a third upstairs but we did not need it) and a large comfortable lounge and dinning room - plenty of space for 4 especially as we were able to eat outside every night. The kitchen had everything and more - herbs and olive oil - but there was also lots of fresh herbs that Rob said we could use.
The welcome bottle of red, orange juice, water and fresh tomatoes was a lovely start with the addition of fresh homegrown courgettes later in the week - thank you.
Rob was able to give us lots and lots of great information and there was also plenty inside in folders too.
Plenty of books to borrow, many on my own book shelf and some games, puzzles and a great video collection that we didn't get to use - but the kids liked the Simpsons.
You can walk to Lipiano for a beer or glass of wine but otherwise you need a car. There is a supermarket (5 mins in car) in Monterchi and a larger cheaper one in Sanselpocro (25 mins).
Rob was there to chat to but also gave us our space - laying in the garden was great and the dunk pool a big plus on hot days.
So why no reviews on Casa Tersalle for the last 3 months?? Because we, a retired Australian couple aged 60 and 70, were lucky enough to select it as the base for our 3 month holiday in Umbria, and have been extremely happy with our choice. From 3 May until 26 July 2014, we have watched the weather, seasons, crops and food change as the months have gone by. We cannot recommend the house, its location and the hosts, Rob and Jane, highly enough.
From Casa Tersalle we have explored the local villages and towns as well as those further afield. We have enjoyed our daily walks to Lippiano for coffee and a chat at Il Pretino, the local bar. Various friends have come to stay - the house has expanded to accommodate them, and they have all been enchanted by its rustic charm. Summer breakfasts, lunches and evenings on the terrace, with that spectacular view, have been special, as have visits to the range of restaurants nearby. As others have said, the simple, spacious, traditional converted farmhouse is exactly as described on the website, no surprises whatsoever. We enjoyed the potbelly stove in the lounge when we first arrived, the plunge pool on the warmer days in June and July, and the reliability of the wifi throughout (an essential for us).
Rob and Jane are, as everyone has said before, fantastic hosts who could not have been more helpful both to us and our friends. We particularly appreciated the fact they spoke English, as our little bit of Italian would have been difficult with a medical issue that arose early in our stay. They are honest, genuine, hard working and great to have around, as a ready reference for anything you could ask for.
Whether for a short stay or longer sabbatical, Casa Tersalle has much to offer. Peaceful and rural, but with a village nearby, fantastic views and terrific access to Umbria's and Tuscany's many attractions. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
