Our arrival was not without adventure, flight to Bari, shuttle bus across town taking half hour to the railway station which was situated in a Piazza, three stations in all so we had to find the one going to Alberobello. We traveled thru vineyards, orchards and saw Trulli houses on the way, journey time approx 2 hours.
When arriving at the accommodation which we thought was a Trulli house, we were very disappointed to find it was a flat roof stonehouse!!!
The name of the property Il Taverniere dei Trulli over the front door and also inside leads you to believe it was a Trulli and pictures on Holiday Lettings show a Trulli coned roof, which turned out to belong to next door.
The Stonehouse, to its credit, had been modernized to a high standard and detail.
There was no information pack left in the property as to the nearest shops etc. No Welcome Pack!
We were in the town NOT the Trulli area, so our lookout was three storey concrete buildings, not pretty!
Our whole dream was to stay in a Trulli.
