Nice hotel

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 June 2023

We enjoyed our stay at Ramapendula Hotel in Alberbello in early June, 2023. It's location was about a 15 minute walk from the old town. Parking was included on the site. The hotel had lovely well-maintained grounds and a nice outdoor swimming pool. A good breakfast buffet was included with our accommodations. The staff were pleasant. We recommend this hotel.

Quiet, clean hotel, comfortable beds. Poor toiletries. Average breakfast. Only set dinner menu is available in the restaurant. Typical tourist hotel, where no one expects you to ever come back. Friendly personnel. Outside pool will be a big attraction in warmer season

The hotel looks appropriate for the place - it encompasses two trulli roofs, so that one knows right away what the main sight of this town is. The rooms are spacious, with French windows, with a large bathroom and all the furniture needed. The TV set could be a bit bigger, but you cannot watch anything but Italian programmes anyway. The shower which is actually in the bathtub is not a very good idea either, especially for elderly guests. Everything else is nice, the yard is well-kept, there is a small park and a swimming pool there.
The food was good, but the service at dinner was very slow, so some of the dishes were already cold. Breakfast was only partly self-service, maybe due to covid, but nothing was missing really. Even the waiters were quick at serving then.
The main advantage of this hotel is the fact that it is quite close to the main sight of the town - the trulli. There is only a 10-minute walk to the part of the town where one can visit the largest cluster of trulli houses.

Room tip: If you are elderly, choose a room with a classical shower if available.

Stayed here for two nights in August as we wanted to visit the Trulli houses. The hotel is a very good base for Trulli, just a short walk away.
Clean rooms and a lovely pool area. Parking is plentiful however, we wouldn’t stay again...
There was absolutely no personality and the staff were not particularly friendly. When we arrived we asked where the bar was and were pointed in the direction of what looked like a desk which can only have served bottles. This was a shame as the outside area was pretty.
We had a french balcony in our room which was disappointing. The rest of the room was ok. Breakfast was a big let down, very limited and juice served in flimsy white plastic cups.
I would liken it to a travelodge. Definitely not somewhere to stay for more than one or two nights.

Room tip: The countryside around the hotel is not good so a is not necessary.

It's a good and clean hotel, but rather old and nothing special.
It's 10 minutes walking to the heart of Alberobello. They serve just usual dinner and breakfast too. One night stay it will be good as you don't need to spend too long to
explore the little town

The place is 7-10 minutes from the train station of Alberobello. Lack of sidewalks on the direct roads connecting the two makes the access a bit hard, unless you take a detour. Location is outside the central area but than again the Trulli are is not hard to reach on foot. We got a ground floor room with a view to the garden. Weather because of the way it was facing away from the sun or the fact that it led directly into the garden the room felt very humid with a vague smell of moisture. Not to disturbing, though you would feel it every time you walk into the room. Room was big enough and with everything you need in it, although not recently updated. Wifi would not connect but we did not report it and not sure weather it was a isolated situation. Breakfast was characteristic for Italy, not a lot of food, mostly sweets but It was as expected though. Staff in the restaurant was helpful and nice. They had a pool but we did not use it. Seemed nice.
On the down side: Humidity of the room. Lady at the reception desk, although helpful would snap easily. Location next to the trainlines. Prices on booking way above what the other customers were paying.
