“A HIDDEN PEARL JUST ABOVE CINQUE TERRE”
Reviewed 26 April 2012

Price, Service and Quality are the secret of this Hotel. Whithout the crowds of Cinque Terre, La Giada Del Mesco, in Levanto is almost there, very secluded and at the same time close to everything. Wonderful views, fabulous rooms, manicured and inpeccable landscaping. The owners, brothers, make you feel the owners of the Hotel La Giada Del Mesco. They do everything to please. Five Stars breakfast, Five Stars Owners, Five Stars Hotel. I will definitely recommend La Giada Del Mesco to family and friends and look forward to be a guest of the Hotel again very soon. Congratulations to the owners for the efforts and good work.

Stay here for the fabulous view! Every room has a balcony overlooking the water, the view is amazing! We were greeted with a complimentary drink for our balcony. The rooms are rather dated, but the staff is very accomodating, and the breakfast layout is rather extensive. We actually got omlettes for breakfast -- a real treat in Italy! The location is excellent for the Cinque Terra towns. It is situated high on the hill, but that means they actually having parking! Once you visit, you'll understand what a rare ammenity that is in this area! The driver will take you down the hill to the train station, and there is a nice laundry in town, too. All in all, a good value for this area.

My gf and I loved this hotel and the surrounding area, so much in fact that I proposed here and we plan to return in the future for anniversaries. This small hotel has only 8 rooms so it's super quiet; no annoying children or dogs or other unwanted noise. Every room opens directly onto a somewhat private balcony that has an amazing view of the ocean and neighboring Levanto. The pool looked nice as well but we didn't have time to use it. The staff were quite helpful and carried our luggage to our room, a nice touch considering it's only staffed by two people lol.

The breakfast in the morning was also excellent, with the staff preparing fresh omelettes and a great selection of buffet choices, not to mention the open-air seating with a view over the ocean.

Our GPS led us astray as we were finding this hotel and we ended up on a dirt path headed up a very steep hill. We weren't too far off. The location of this hotel is up a very steep narrow road. There are mirrors at various locations to help see if cars are coming the other way. You would not want to try it at night. We were greeted with Champagne and cheese (and 2 cokes for our children) on check-in. The view from our room was amazing. We also had a great balcony which we loved. The air conditioning worked well and the room fit all 4 of us well. The hotel has a beautiful pool which we enjoyed. We asked if we could walk into town from there (as we did not want to deal with the narrow roads) we were told it was a 15 minute walk. It probably is but it is down a very rocky path which was quite a challenge on the way back up. My family hikes and is in good shape but I wouldn't attempt it if you weren't. The hotel runs a shuttle downtown in the morning to get to the train station so you can go see the Cinque Terra. They also ran it at night so you could go downtown for dinner. The driver was always prompt and this is definitely the way to go at night. The breakfast at the hotel was really nice. They would even make fresh eggs to order. We enjoyed this hotel. The views were really fantastics. There might be more convenient places to stay to see the Cinque Terra but this place is worth the extra effort.

We stayed in this hotel from 1.June until 5.June and we were really sad as we had to leave back home. We had a room on the back side of the house wihtout seaview and neverthelless we enjoyed our stay very much. The terrific view you have anyway as soon as you step out of the door and so we enjoyed the view from the breakfast terace, from pool, from the garden etc. Room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet is as well more than good, fresh fruits, bred, eggs, cakes, really everything was just great! The hotel owner and his family are extremly kind and helpful and they provided the shuttle service to the Levanto indeed every day since we had our litlle baby (9 months) with us and could not walk down with the pram. We will remember this stay a long time and I hope we can go again there one time more. Many thanks to the family and a lot of warmest regards from Switzerland.
