“A favourite hotel on a favourite island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2012

We are about to book for a fourth stay at this hotel and a seventh visit to the island! We stay for at least three weeks so we know the island and the owners of the hotel very well. Nothing is too much trouble, the family and staff are very friendly and efficient, breakfast dishes are beautifully set out and one can eat inside or under the verandah by the immaculately clean pool. In one direction is a short walk to Agios Georgios Bay or on the boardwalk for the evening stroll into the Hora for dinner. In the other direction one can catch a bus to other beaches, or go by hire car or bike to the rest of the island passing by orchards and marble quarries to small villages and beautiful peaceful archeological sites, across 'mountains' to small fishing ports and remote bays. A truly varied holiday destination with a delightful hotel in which to relax.

We stayed two nights at astir, nice little hotel, verry nice pool with chairs. They also have big showers, whcich is kind of rare. It was verry clean and quiet. The location is great, 2 minutes wallk from the beautiful agios georgios beach and nice 10 minutes walk on the boardwalk from the city center. Close to all the nice beach lounges where you can rent a sunbed for 5euros a day. Only negative thing i can say is that the matress was verry hard. But overall a verry nice hotel with a great location. Away from the noise of the town, but close enough to walk.

We stayed for 5 nights. The service was very good and the overall feeling was very positive.

The owner and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

It is near the capital, which is very good. Also, it is near to the most beautiful beaches of the island.

Room Tip: Get an East side room to the first floor. View to the pool.

The arrival drink on a very hot check-in day (36C) was followed by a dip in the fantastic pool. The pool is deep enough for diving (and cannonballs!) and long enough for a few lengths when we felt energetic. The staff were very friendly, and our air-conditioned room was quiet and relaxing for escaping the heat.
Astir hasa nice breakfast buffet included an is a very short walk to the beach, with a boardwalk to the town for lunch and dinner. It is close to everything but not close enough to hear anything so its really an oasis. We loved it.
