Neighborhood guest house and pub about a 10 minute walk from town shopping center. Locals and tourist alike. Good snitzel and fries. Friendly hosts and good local beer on tap.

We decided to go to this place for an evening meal and a few drinks and we were not disappointed. The deer goulash and beef dish were excellent which we washed down with some local beer and a delicious local white wine. We also braved the typical German Schnapps at the end of the meal! Can highly recommend this place but perhaps book a table in advance. It was quite busy and we were lucky to get a table. Also, don't turn up too late, as it shuts fairly early!

My wife and I ate here one night while we were moving house to Bacharach. The service was fast and friendly, the meat was perfectly cooked (I had the Sauerbraten, my wife had the Deer Goulash, the better of the two dishes I'm sorry to say!) as were the accompanying side dishes, and the sauces for both dishes was good. The price is one of the best in Bacharach and as far as value for money, I would say this place is in the top 2.

This place was our favorite for traditional German food and wonderful prices. It is about a 10-15 min (depends on how fast you walk) gradual uphill walk from downtown Bacharach. It also has a parking lot, if you have a car. Good locals restaurant with friendly staff who speak English. Closed on Mondays.

We were staying along this same road as the restaurant but further up and this was our first German meal ever in our life.
It was about 5 pm Sunday and we saw already 3 tables of people seated outside having drinks or eating.
We took the 4th table. The menu has both German and English and we ordered a soup of the day, a Jagerschnitzel (schnitzel with mushrooms) and finally a brocoli uberback (brocoli gratin).
The soup was good but too salty so we requested it to be topped up with hot water which they did. As mentioned by some reviewers, the portion was huge for the schnitzel : it came with fries and a salad and was copious for both of us. The pork was good too. But we didn't get to finish the brocoli and boiled potatoes, whose cheese layer was tasty.
The 3 dishes costed us only about 20€, really value for money.
