We stayed a week with a 2 and 4 year old. Huge grassy play area and fenced pool. Restored cottage with beautiful natural-looking interiors. Loads of indoor and outdoor toys and books, which my kids loved. Next door cottage has table facing to the other side to maintain privacy. Lovely village 10 mins walk, and main Dordogne sights are within 30 mins drive. Photos do not do the cottage justice!
Hope cottage is a fantastic place for a family holiday. The cottage itself was very clean, well equipped (fab induction hob and sharp knives, lovely walk-in shower!) and we enjoyed cosy evenings in watching movies. The terrace is perfect for sitting out to eat, drink and watch the kids play in the garden. We really enjoyed the pool area, lots of inflatables for the kids and hammocks and sun loungers for relaxing. There are lots of things to see and do within easy reach – beautiful hilltop towns and villages, castles, chateaus, dinosaur parks and caves etc. as well as traffic free cycle paths (make sure to pre-book bike hire in peak season) and of course canoeing down the Dordogne (which was a particular highlight for us and our two girls (4 & 6). Out of all the holidays we've had in France, I would definitely recommend this place above all!
We stayed at Hope Cottage for 10 days in early June and couldn't have asked for anything better. We were amazed at how gorgeous the cottage and grounds were when we arrived. This was our first trip abroad with our nine month old and the cottage had absolutely everything we needed - highchair, cot, pram, toys, books, baby food blender and much more. The local village is lovely with a very nice restaurant. The gite was so peaceful and we were lucky that the other gite was unoccupied so we had the pool and meadow all to ourselves! There are lots of things to do in the area and we can't wait to return!

We travelled with our 3 small children (aged 5, 3 and 15 months). It is a long old trek driving down to the Dordogne with small children but it was well worth the drive when we arrived! The property has been beautifully furnished and is well equipped, the children loved their bedroom with the books and toys. The outside space is perfect for young families, with the swimming pool, trampoline, slide and sandpit we didn't need to go out at all if we didn't want to! A truly relaxing holiday, we plan to return with family/ friends in the future and rent both properties.
A beautiful cottage set in the most rural, peaceful setting. No need to visit anywhere else just walk into St Pompon, it has all you need for the best most relaxing holiday you will ever have.
