We enjoyed our stay here at the Chang Cliff. On arrival we were greeted at reception and told we had been upgraded to a seaview room! Amazing start. Our bags were then taken up to the room for us. The room itself was quite small but more than sufficient for our needs. The front is all glass which gives for the amazing seaview and it is amazing! This does however create a problem with privacy. Our room was one in a group of 3 rooms in one building and with a balcony/seating area come walkway right outside it was a bit cosy. Obviously there are curtains but if you have them open then the occupants of the other rooms can see in when they walk passed. I must stress that there are other rooms with private balconies and this was just our experience. It did not dampen our enjoyment. We did also have a slight issue with ants in the room. We bought some spray from 7-11 for 69 baht, worked a treat. The bathroom was a decent size and although the shower was quite powerful it wasn't very hot. The nearest beach is a 15 minute walk but the hotel put on shuttle bus and there are tuk tuk type bikes etc to ferry you about. The nearest beach is a 15 minute walk but the hotel put on shuttle bus and there are tuk tuk type bikes etc to ferry you about. There is a quieter beach in the opposite direction and we jumped in a local bus/taxi car that runs up and down the main street that cost 50 baht each. The breakfast was very good, lots of options to choose from and good value. We stopped at the hotel over New Year and they threw a party for all the guests with free food and drink (I think the price was included in the booking fee for the hotel so not technically free but we ate and drank more than our fair share so worked out well!) All the staff were friendly and polite and were very accommodating, especially with the NYE party. There's also plenty of restaurants in close proximity and plenty of bars and food within a 10 minute walk. All in all a really nice hotel in a decent location with great views and service. A few little things to improve on but I would recommend staying here. More
