This review is a bit late, and quite long. Visit time - Feb 2018 end, 3 days.
Saw Ellbee listing on Trip Advisor and after reading the reviews, booked it through booking.com.

Booking process - we made a smooth booking online without paying upfront. We contacted the hotel as we wanted to make a prepayment. Front desk was very prompt in replying and helping us in pre-payment.

The hotel has an E-bill policy and at any time you can check your mail to see your running bill. That was very helpful and efficient.

Travel Desk - Mr. Krishna was very helpful in arranging for transportation for us. Even last-minute requests were accommodated with good speed. We got a well maintained Maruti Ertiga with polite, efficient drivers who give good advice on travel planning. Give them an idea of what you plan to do, and they will guide you.

Location - the hotel is located right on the Dehradun-Haridwar connecting road. As the name states the hotel is bang opposite the Ganga, located where the Ganga gently curves around a National Park. Triveni Ghat is just a 5 min walk away. The location means you don't get a "Resort Feel" but are just a minute or two from availing a Shared Auto, if you want to roam more on foot. Did not try bus options but heard the Bus Depot was a short walk away. An ATM and Petrol Bunk are close by.

Hotel Ambiance - The decor was lovely, classy and very Indian. After seeing so many hotels with decor that try to be as non-indian as possible, this was a pleasant surprise. The elephant motif was predominant. Windows not facing the Ganges had lovely Glass paintings. Whoever had the idea to use Camphor in a diffuser instead of Suffocating Room "Fresheners" deserves praise. That smell along with the quiet and decor was very soothing.

Rooms - We chose a River-facing Premium Room and boy that was a great choice. Most of the wall facing the Ganga was Glass and the view alone was worth the room price. Rooms had good soundproofing and despite being right on a busy highway, we hardly heard any outside noise. AC was effective and could control it as we needed. The furnishings were good and classy. Bedding was very comfortable. The chairs facing the ganga were perfect for relaxing with a hot beverage and to see the Sun rise above the mountains. The mini bar was your routine stuff. Our bathroom had a big tub and a rain shower. Small Gripe - why do all hotels above a certain class stuff so many pillows on the bed?

Room Service was quick but an additional 25% Surcharge felt a bit excessive.

Food - We ate at their in-house restaurant, the Sitting Elephant most of the times. The decor was again lovely. The indoor seating area had well-spaced seating. However, the outdoor seating was the attraction. Breakfast Buffet was included with our room and had a good spread. Tea was excellent. The Restaurant is exclusively vegetarian, and it was ideal for us thus. The menu is not exhaustive but is very good. Food was tasty and hygienic, and the quantities are more than sufficient, and service was efficient and very friendly with the Manager Mr. Jitendra welcoming the guests and taking feedback every time. We liked their concept of e-bills. Also, there is a live instrumental recital at night in the indoor area.

Activities & Miscellany – the rooms had a thick folder detailing all the activities that the Hotel can/does organize covering spiritual trips to adventure sports. They also arrange for a complimentary trip to Triveni Ghat for the daily Ganga Aarti. We were told Yoga classes are conducted in the mornings for interested guests. There is a small gift/curio shop next to the reception desk.

In all, we had a lovely 3 days in Ellbee and would definitely return when we visit Rishikesh again.

Room tip: Opt for the Premium views. Amazing and soothing view. Call the hotel for doubts/clarifications. They are very helpful

i just stayed here for 1 night, it was like a stopover, as i was suppose to head to jim corbett. but i was really suprised to find this place very good n should have extended my stay. the hotel is located in close proximity of the ganga ghat where evening puja is done before sunset. the rooms are clean & very spacious, with clean toilets n bathroom. th e bed was comfortable.
the food was really good in taste. food is vegeterian. the dinning on the upper floor has a terrace which gives u a superb view of the ganga river n the ghat. its on the main road. for those looking to do outdoor activities in rishikesh then atleast 3 nights are recommended. a mid range property with great staff, excellent service, good food.

Room tip: ganga facing rooms on higher floors

It was a wonderful uplifting experience staying at this hotel. The staff was wonderful especially the manager, Mr Jitender Negi, who provided our yoga group with all the information we needed. We were a group of 14 people from TRUST YOGA Singapore on a week long retreat from 6 March to 12 March.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with an old world charm, as if you were whisked away to a remote palace retreat in India. The marble floors were reminiscent of an old world charm that no modern hotels can replicate.
Mr Jitender kindly accompanied our group to Ganga Sarees, for saree shopping one afternoon, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He made sure the saree blouses were sewn the same day and delivered to us at night promptly as we were due to leave for New Delhi the next day.
We also travelled to see the famous Shiva temple as well as experienced the thrills of water rafting. The ultimate experience for me for the energetic Ganga Aarti which took place by the bank of the Ganges. A touching and enlightening experience!
Thank you Ellbee Ganga!
