“Hull's Hideaway has great service and food”

Cruising through the area on a motorcycle vacation, our gang of eight needed to stop for fuel. After filling our tanks, we looked around for a place to eat and on the side of the gas station was Hull's Hideaway. It looks to be a house that was restored into a restaurant. They serve local beer and have good prices with many specials. When you enter, there's a salad bar station to the left.
The place is frequented by many locals---- true folksy folks. Very nice and friendly. The service for 8 of us was outstanding. The food was good. Some things were better than others. The seasoned fries were a bit overdone. The place was so memorable, we stopped again a few days later before heading home.
The first day, I had the pulled pork sandwich. Barbecue pulled pork served on a hamburger roll. Not too bad. The second time, I had the grilled veggie wrap. That was very tasty and filling. They offer this as a full sub, half sub or wrap.
We left a big tip as eight of us chipped in more than our share. I believe they take credit cards but we were all about the cash. Rest rooms for one are clean.
AT&T doesn't have cell service here, but the restaurant does have free wifi which is how I was able to check in. The second visit, we had to try the pizza. Being from Jersey, we know what pizza is. They do make a descent pizza. Very cheesy, but the crust was very spongy. I would still recommend it since they do make it fresh.

We stayed at the Highland Inn and walked to the Mountain Hideaway Restaurant and Tavern. The owners were super friendly, as were all of the people we met in the town. The menu is pretty basic, but the food is good and the prices are very good. I had a cheeseburger, and it was very good. They had a peach blonde beer on tap that is pretty good. The food and drinks arrived quickly. It was a family restaurant, and they were lovely people. Grandma was cooking, and she makes her food with love. There is a little tavern in the back, but the owner said that its only hopping on the weekends. It is a quaint, cute little town with friendly, country people. I would love to go back!

Little restaurant next to the local gas station in a tiny town. Has a decent menu and really cheap pricing. Food was decent and the folks were country nice. Seems like the best place to eat in Monterey.
