We had a wonderful stay at this property in December, just after Christmas. The house is huge, and beautifully situated at the end of a point looking out toward the mountains. It was very quiet when we were there, but we had beautiful weather and were able to go out paddling on the lake in the pedal boat and also with kayaks. We were traveling with a large group of family and friends but the house never felt crowded- there is even a full second kitchen downstairs which we made use of to keep a big pot of soup simmering. Perhaps the best thing about the house is the fabulous living and kitchen area upstairs, which is perfect for everyone to gather. In nice weather you can also sit on the adjoining porch.
House is also convenient to grocery stores and a small shopping center with an arcade where we took the kids on a rainy afternoon. My only note of caution for folks staying in the winter is that if it is snowing/icy I am sure the roads (especially if you are traveling via the BR Parkway) become quite slippery. There is however a route that is much flatter and should be passable in any season; if you're headed there in the winter it's worth an extra look at a map to check for the least mountainous roads!
All in all a wonderful vacation in a house that has clearly been loved for generations- we'd love to stay there again!
we had wonderful time staying at the house and kids enjoyed the stay and the house was well maintained and like to book again soon.
