We stayed here for 2 days visiting family, so we did not benefit from the proximity to Dulles. That would be the only reason to stay here.

The hotel had several annoyances, but they are somewhat "built-in" to the venue.

1) we had an "accessible" room, but it was barely large enough to allow a wheelchair to maneuver.
2) one ice machine (first floor)
3) four floors, one elevator
4) the "breakfast room" (free continental breakfast) was not large enough for the hotel. No big deal, but you may want to plan to bring food back to your room unless you're lucky. Food was typical for that sort of thing.
5) two electric plugs did not work
6) the toilet seat was extremely loose ( needed tightening )

Again, the above was not terrible, but gave me the impression of a relatively neglected hotel.

This was our second time staying at this HIE. Once again our stay was perfect. The staff is beyond accommodating. A shout out to Ethan, at the front desk, for his professional yet warm and friendly manner. He is an asset to the Holiday Inn Express. The ladies who take care of the breakfast area are very efficient and courteous as well. We visit the area frequently and this is our hotel of choice.

We've been here before, and as in the past the accommodations are very nice, the location is good, the breakfast is free, hot and good.

But (don't you hate it when that word gets inserted), if the place is FULL, there are some limitations. There is only one elevator, so, especially in the morning when checking out many people, and checking in the flight from China (at the same time), it can get backed up. And the breakfast area is limited in size. If the weather is nice, they have tables outside. But, if it is raining, those waiting for the shuttle will compete with breakfast overflow,... We saw many families trying to use the overloaded elevators to take breakfast to their rooms.

Great place, but a larger lobby and a second elevator would also be really nice.

Close to Dulles with free hotel transfer plus transportation to local stops. Superb service at front desk. Very accommodating, courteous and sincere. Room comfortable, very clean. Nice breakfast although typical. Would recommend and definitely return. King room ran around $100..

Really bad experience when I stayed there for a week from June 12 to June 18 2016.
Here is my list of bad experiences:
1. On first night that I stayed I called front desk to ask for getting few flatware (forks). Lady picked up and put me on hold for 10 mins. Then she said she can only send someone after 15mins or so since there were only two persons managing the entire hotel at that time. Finally I went down and got it myself rather than waiting.
2. refrigerator is our room didn't work properly. We kept few salads and milk packets and it all became frozen. I tried to decrease the cooling still would do the same every night.
3. room card key was not working each day. First day they told it was because it may be kept near phone. From next day onwards I always kept it away but it happened each of the 6 days and it was really frustrating.
4. Bathroom door got locked in without anyone inside. I had to call someone to open it. Didn't expect that to happen in a hotel.
