The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. I am camping across USA, but needed internet. I walked up and ask and found Space was available and hospitality was wide.As invited, I enjoyed "my house" fully. Lovely dinner in the Lounge - OUT STANDING CARROT CAKE - and comfort while using WIFI for a meeting. I'd come back anytime!

We had dinner on 2 Oct and took advantage of their special Date Night Tuesday Menu.
Service was excellent and Niko took good care of us. Dinner was excellent with choice of appetizer, main course and shared dessert for 35 per person.

Would highly recommend this restaurant for a good dinner.

We dined here in 2016 when we were in the area for vacation. We returned this year with friends and were excited about making this our last night special dinner.

We arrived for our 6:30P reservation and were not seated until 7PM; there were empty tables. We were ushered to the nice bar and had a cocktail. Nobody checked on us during the 30 minute wait or apologized, or offered us anything.

Once we were seated, there was another 20 minute delay while the confused server could not figure out they did not have Viognier; her first response was she did not know the “extensive” wine list and it was on the wine list. Two of us looked at it several times; no Viognier. We told her and she brought a white blend for us to try and one of the grapes she said was in it was Petit Verdot (Petit Verdot is made only as a red wine). It was not acceptable and she left. Sometime later, the bartender came with two glasses of white wine; a Chardonnay and a Savugnon Blanc. He identified each, and we confirmed which was which. He had them confused; but it was easy to determine the correct wine.

So, finally after an hour, we were able to order appitizers. We ordered two salads, a soup and crispy shrimp. The soup and salads were very good, the shrimp was barely warm. At this point, I was not going to send it back; I thought we would be thlre til midnight.

The dirty dishes and glasses were not removed from the table, we had to hand them to her. She poured one glass of wine for each of us from the bottle, and never returned. We poured the wine ourselves.

The entrees arrived; 1 duck breast, 2 sea scallops and a pork chop. Presentation was very good, but everything was just above room temprature. The food tasted OK, but would have been very good if it would have been hot. The pork chop was over cooked, it was ordered medium rare. We asked our server what one of the vegetables was with the scallops, and she did not know; she said it was endive, like a leak; we concluded they were leaks.

We passed on desert, enough was enough. 2 hours and 20 minutes for a subpar, 2 course meal. Unacceptable.

Perhaps an off night, but it was a series of bad service that amounted to a very poor experience and not a good representation of what we had experienced and expected.
