Played at Potomac Shores yesterday in an outing. It opened May 2014 but is in top shape. The design is suburb, not overdone because there's no need -- the landscape is sweeps up and down forested hills close to the Potomac River. Lovely clubhouse, great restaurant, excelling staff -- this golf course should now be considered the best public venue in Northern Virginia. I'm a low handicapper, a member of a nearby private club, and I will be back!

Course Design: Potomac Shores welcomed players to the first publicly accessible Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in the Washington D.C. metro area.

Nicklaus Design, the global golf course design firm founded by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, is widely regarded as the world's leading design firm. With a philosophy of working closely with clients, enhancing the natural environment, and creating courses that are both challenging and enjoyable for players of all levels, the company has close to 380 courses open for play in 36 countries and 39 states. Of those golf courses, Jack Nicklaus has been involved in the design of 290 courses. At least 70 Nicklaus Design courses have been ranked by major industry publications like Golf Digest, Golfweek, GOLF Magazine and Travel and Leisure Golf. No fewer than 100 Nicklaus Design courses have hosted a combined total of over 750 professional golf tournaments worldwide.

With its accessible location and articulate Nicklaus design, Potomac Shores 18-hole centerpiece is destined to become the golf getaway of choice for Northern Virginians, D.C. dignitaries and guests visiting the region.
Club House Services: Designed with traditional Virginia architecture in mind, guests are welcomed with a spacious living room where they can relax and recap their round. The golf shop boasts some of the finest golf apparel and equipment that will satisfy the needs of all guests. Additionally, a relaxed, yet sophisticated grille-style dining room, serves up all of your favorites. Guests can enjoy the outdoor ambiance with brick patios overlooking the 18th green complete with distinctive fireplaces and outdoor fire pit. And finally, the spacious event lawn provides an ideal venue for tournaments, weddings and other group outings.

Tidewater Grill: Tidewater Grill, a full service restaurant at Potomac Shores Golf Club, is the perfect place to escape from the city without leaving the city. Nestled just off the Potomac River, on Powell's Creek, Tidewater Grill looks over the 18th hole of our Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course offers stunning views of the golf course and northern Virginia's wildlife. Executive Chef Matt Blazey's regionally inspired menu features meats and produce from local farms. Highlights from the menu include our signature crab roll, smoked sausage, and our "juicy lucy" of the day. No visit to Tidewater Grill would be complete without trying our beignets, which are made to order and change daily. Our patio has seating for over 50 guests and is the perfect place to enjoy one of our signature cocktails.
