Thoughtful hosts and a beautiful setting more than compensated for horrible weather - it rained for most of our stay. There something especially rewarding about looking up from a book to see deer feeding in the field below your window. When the weather limited our willingness to travel into Charlottesville for dinner, our hosts recommended several excellent restaurants in nearby Croze.

Our third stay at this Excellent B&B in the secluded and pastoral outskirts of Charlottesville VA. Our first time in early Sept. which meant lots of young deer feeding near the well maintained property and many humingbirds flying through.

The Inn is clean, well-kept and the breakfasts are delicious. The countryside is beautiful with many good restuarants and decent vineyards. The innkeepers, Hayden and Dick, are devoted, personable and professionable. They have the rare ability to maintain an efficient and friendly staff - not easy in this industry.

Overall, Sugar Hollow is an excellent place to unwind. We've always met a good group of folks and had many great conversations. This trip we met folks from Scotland and South Carolina. A real good time!

The Inn at sugar hollow farm is not just for romantic getaways. My 28 year old son and I recently spent the 1st week of Sept. there. We visited Monticello and toured the beautiful estate. We also visited 3 wineries -The King Family being our favorite. We had a wonderful dinner at the C&O restaurant, and also enjoyed several restaurants in the little town of Krozet which is about 10 minutes from the Inn. If you go and you love nature and the mountains, you will enjoy the drive along Skyline Drive. We saw deer, and the view is breath taking. However I think our favorite part of the trip was enjoying the beauty that surrounds the Inn itself. Humming birds, butterflies, deer, turtles, and my son was able to get a picture of a bear from the room he was staying. I'm sure he will post some of his pictures on the trip adivisor. The breakfasts were wonderful and the rooms decorated just so. Some colonial, others country decor. The rooms were also emaculate. We are already planning our next trip to The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm.

My husband and I just returned from a two-night stay at the Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm. What a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Shenandoah Suite, which was beautifully decorated and filled with many thoughtful touches that made our stay relaxing and stress-free.

In our room we found a list of area sights and restaurants and our hosts Dick and Hayden made additional suggestions. Due to the rain we headed west to the mountain town of Staunton, just 30 minutes away, where we visited Woodrow Wilson's home and looked around the historic downtown.

The scenery at Sugar Hollow was breathtaking, even during the rainy pre-Ernesto days that we were there. Sightings of a doe with twin fauns, two bucks, and a group of ten deer just outside our suite added to the atmosphere.

Breatfast in the charming main house was delicious and enhanced by the hummingbirds darting in and out of the butterfly bushes just outside the windows.

We've stayed in a lot of B&B's, but The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm is in a realm of its own. It's a terrific retreat when you need to just get away. Innkeepers Dick and Hayden, and assistant innkeeper Margie made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.

We plan to go back - but next time we'll stay longer!
