We stayed at the Residence Inn in Chester for one night on our way to North Carolina. We were able to get a fairly last minute reservation, and when we arrived, were able to find parking even though it was late on a holiday weekend. Check in went smoothly.

We were very impressed with the hotel and the room - you can tell that it's been recently renovated. The lobby was bright and airy, and very clean. Although we didn't get a chance to swim in the pool, we checked it out and it looked very nice. It is open until 11:00 each night. Our room was great - we had a 1 bedroom fireplace suite. It was clean, the kitchen was well appointed, and it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the curtains kept the room nice and dark. We slept well, and would definitely recommend staying here again if it hadn't been for our bad experience the next morning at breakfast.

When we got to breakfast, there were several other families there eating. The food was ok for a free breakfast, but the area was very dirty and a lot of the food options had already run out when we got there at 9:00. There appeared to only be one person working in the area. We ate our food, and were just finishing up when the woman who was working began speaking on her cell phone. She proceeded to have a very inappropriate conversation, using frequent profanity - all within earshot of my 2 year old daughter. It was very rude and she did not appear to care that she was having her conversation in front of hotel guests. I stay at Marriott frequently, and generally encounter very good to excellent service. This was really disappointing - I could expect having to deal with rudeness or profanity from other hotel guests, but not from someone working in a customer-facing role at the hotel. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get her name.

Based on the updated facilities, and comfortable and clean rooms, I am giving this hotel a 3 star rating - but the service was extremely disappointing.

Room Tip: Corner fire place rooms are quiet nice!

Took my kids to Busch Garden and stayed there the night before. A very decent Residence Inn for the family. Good size room and nice breakfast services. Also a good place to stay the night before for early visit to Busch Garden. Somehow parking is a bit difficult when we were there on a Friday night.

First the good stuff - this RI is renovated and the clean staff do an okay job. Nothing too creepy but they could clean better under tables, on the fridge and in the bathroom.

Breakfast in the morning was a disaster. There was one person working and she was not prepared for the families that came. No coffee, no fruit, no waffle batter, no Muffins, no oatmeal, trash cans overflowing. She was making scrambled eggs which there were some while everything else was out. She did empty the trash cans but left them in the middle of the room. There was no manager or anyone to help her. Better oversight and preparation is necessary. This was a Saturday in summer. They should be prepared and have help even if it is the manager pitching in.

Disappointment for the Marriott brand.

We enjoyed our visit here. Nice hotel convenient to 95 and 295 beltway. Fairly new hotel a block back from main road. Ate at a Cracker Barrel off of 95 nearby. Normal breakfast. Busy on this Saturday night with girls softball teams.

The staff at this hotel should warn their guests of the State Police business on their 9/10 of a mile near their hotel. Our stay here will cost us at least $1000 for doing 12 miles over the speed limit. After receiving our "reckless driving while speeding", a misdemeanor, we will need to hire a traffic attorney. Don't worry you will get letters from at least 10 of them before you get home. This information is all over the Internet. A little too late for us. I have to believe the hotel knows all about it. It is a local "business" with an annual income of $2 million dollars. Thank you Residence Inn
