“Great overnight getaway didn't want to come home!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2012

My fiance and I took off from work on Valentine's Day and headed up to the inn the night before. Since we were coming from NYC it was a bit of a drive after working all day but we were anxious to arrive. Since we arrived after 9 pm the inkeeper was not there but he left a long note on the door explaining anything we needed. He also left his cell phone number for us to call him. We had so much fun we played games left in the foyer, and watched excellent movies (chosen from a book of new releases on DVD left in our room)! In the morning we had a delicious breakfast and headed to Mount Snow. The mountain is huge and very close, as is a very cute couple of towns. Since we are not avid skiiers we went down the slope once and had enough. We had dinner reservations back at the inn for 5pm. By 4pm we were pooped and just didn't feel like walking around any more. So even though we had already checked out went back to the inn earlier than our dinner reservation. They made us comfortable, lit a fire for us, got us some yummy drinks and we played a qucik game of scrabble until our table was ready. Once our table was ready We sat down to see the menu consisted of a 4 course meal, nothing to choose form they just brought out what was on the menu. Normally we are very picky eaters but after reviewing what was for dinner we were both very pleased. We would not have changed a thing. One course was even better than the next. There was even an option for wine pairing for each course. John (the innkeeper) was all dressed up and very invovled with his guests. He was serving wine and making small talk so you knew he was present and cared. After a bottle of wine, a delcious meal, and a dessert to die for we didn't want to leave. Don't worry we will be back in th esummer and we can't wait!

We stayed just one night (1/30/2012) while skiing at Mount Snow. Mount snow is about 7 miles from the Inn. The Inn is located on the main street in Wilmington, VT. The Inn has 4 rooms all located in an adjecent building to the main restaurant and bar. We stayed in the Wilmington room located on the first floor. The room seemed like it had recently been updated. Great bed with a real down comforter, nice bathroom and good heat. We paid $140 including all taxes.
The restaurant was closed on Monday night so we did not eat there. While breakfast is not included, we did eat breakfast there the next morning and it was excellent and reasonably priced.
One note - Wilmington Vermont sustaind considerable damage in August 2011 from hurricane Irene and although the Inn did not sustain damage the town itself suffered severe damage and is just now getting back to some sort of normal.

Room Tip: I don't think you could choose a bad room

My wife and I returned two years later after staying at the Wilmington Inn. They have not lost their touch at being a quiet, clean, friendly Inn. The rooms are clean, comfortable and there is a variety or sizes.. some small, some larger. Don't expect big TV's or giant spa tubs, but rather expect a clean, warm-feeling inn owned and operated by friendly locals who make great efforts to create a Vermont experience that I highly recommend. DO NOT forget to eat at the Inn's restaurant! Incredible locavore gourmet dining..

My husband and I decided to escape to VT for New Years to get some skiing in at Mount Snow, and found the Wilmington Inn online. We immediately liked the layout of the place, with the tavern, common area and restaurant on the ground floor and the guest rooms upstairs. The bed in our room was extremely comfortable and we had a room with a large whirlpool tub in the bathroom. The room we were in was a standard size room for a bed and breakfast, cozy but not cramped. The center of town is walking distance from the Inn, probably a little over a 1/4 mile. We ate at the restaurant one night. The food was wonderful, and the awards they have won are well-deserved. Breakfast was included each day of our trip which we took advantage of each morning. The breakfast menu for the guests of the Inn had a lot of choices and the woman who served breakfast could not have been more friendly and accommodating to everyone (Inn guests or local residents). Overall, we had a great stay, the Inn was charming, the food was fantastic, the innkeepers and the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

Took my wife with me on overnight business trip to area. Booked and stayed in the Suite and was very very happy with room. Extremely comfortable, fireplace worked and we both just relaxed for most of the day. Breakfast the next morning was to order, and was very good as well.. Overall really enjoyed our stay and most definately will stay again both of us for sure, and myself when I am alone.
