This hotel has pricing that is somewhat lower than the local competition, but in the White River Junction (WRJ) area, you get what you pay for. WRJ is a stopping point for vacationers going farther north, for parents bringing their kids to one of the many summer camps in Vermont, and for parents and potential students visiting near-by Dartmouth College. Rates peak in the summer on Friday and Saturday nights. The town is at the junction of I-91 and I-89 so many vacationers pass through the area on their way to their destinations. It tends to be a little cheaper during the work week as there are not as many vacationers on the road. However, this Comfort Inn is not well maintained and shows its wear and tear all over. "Tired" is probably the best description for this older hotel. We asked for quiet room and they stuck us on the fourth floor. It looked like parts of that floor were used for storage of old equipment from the hotel. The elevator was also terribly slow in the hotel so it was no fun on that floor at all. The hotel gives you a free breakfast, but during our stay, the hotel's attendant barely kept pace with the guests and clean-up was non-existent. In spite of all the flaws, by the next morning there were hardly any empty parking places in the lot so people were staying at this place...This hotel has pricing that is somewhat lower than the local competition, but in the White River Junction (WRJ) area, you get what you pay for. The Super 8 down the road is a much older hotel then the Comfort Inn, but it looked like it was in better shape. There are some very nice hotels in White River Junction and in Hanover (across the river in New Hampshire), but they are $160 and higher/ per night. The only way to stay economically is to schedule your travel so you stop in WRJ on a Wednesday or Thursday night-- the Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, and Holiday Inn Express become much more reasonably priced on those days.More
