My wife and I were looking for a restaurant in Warren, VT when we happened upon Tracks, a bar/restaurant located in the Pitcher Inn. Since we did not have reservations, we were seated at the bar. Our server Christina immediately came over to greet us and to take our drink order. When I asked for an entree recommendation, she suggested their signature hamburger. It consisted of ground brisket, topped with bacon and Vermont cheddar. The burger was grilled to perfection, with just a slightly red inside. The fact that the restaurant uses brisket allows the burger to remain juicy yet not bloody. I have to admit this was one of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten. For dessert I asked for a dish of their homemade ice cream, consisting of a scoop of each of their unusual flavors: cinnamon, maple and spiced cocoa. This ice cream combination was not part of their dessert menu but they served it to me nonetheless.
Since Tracks is a bar/restaurant, local Vermont beers are available both on tap and in bottles.
Finally, Christina was an excellent waitress; she was both very polite and extremely attentive. Following her food and dessert suggestions provided us with a wonderful dining experience.
Reservations are strongly recommended.

Recently we joined another couple for dinner at Track's. One member of our party ordered a burger after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, as usual it was ordered well done. It arrived prepared three levels below the requested temperature. Our waitress acknowledged the chef's mistake and took the burger to the kitchen. She came back and said there was a miscommunication and it would take 12 to 15 minutes to prepare another one. A second burger arrived prepared two levels below the requested temperature. As the others at our table were finished with their meals, a takeout container was ordered. We tried to handle an otherwise embarrassing situation with grace. The inability of the restaurant to correctly cook a simple burger ruined an otherwise enjoyable evening. The meals of the other members of our party were good, the beer selection was also good which makes our experience at Track's more unforgivable.

I love the ambiance at the Pitcher Inn. It's quintessential Vermont. Tracks is the casual alternative to the gracious dining on the main floor. The setting overlooking the river is charming and the dining room is cozy and relaxing. However, we were disappointed with the food. A small piece of Pollock had no flavor and a gemelli pasta with vegetables was average at best. The portions were small as well. That said, the staff was helpful and attentive to our needs. If we return, we will perhaps stick to a beer and burger.

Tracks is a great place for a good beer and burger after a long day of skiing. Sit by the fire or play some pool in the back room, either way you'll enjoy the ambiance of Tracks and will want to come back. The menu is also seasonal and has a variety of delicacies year-round!
