Owner description: Sugarbush Resort is located in the historic Mad River Valley of Vermont. With two mountains, sixteen lifts, one hundred and eleven trails, three terrain parks, and the 2,000-acre Slide Brook Basin, there is no question that Sugarbush is one of New England’s largest ski areas. Amenities include multiple base lodges, equipment rentals, ski/ride instruction, lodging, restaurants, and retail.

I started bringing my kids to SugarBush over 12 years ago. My first time was almost 30 years ago. We stay most often in The Paradise and the Glade condo units. We also stayed in the Snow Creek as an upgrade that management made which was a pleasant surprise. We come here for the spring vacation period. It's not unusual during this period for the higher peaks to get a dumping of snow which was not forecasted. The terrain variety includes everything for any skier. During the season a quad chair traverses from Lincoln Peak to Mt. Ellen. This is roughly an 8 min. ride connecting the two ski area's and goes over the Slide Brook Basin. This area offer some beautiful back country skiing which is accessible from the North Lynx chair. This back country area is amazing terrain when conditions are right. This area ends onto German Flats road where during the season you can get the shuttle which runs between the mountains to hitch a ride. On Lincoln Peak the back country off Paradise is amazing. More glade areas seem to open up over time. For the less adventurous advanced skiers Paradise, Moonshine, Lixies Twist and Domino are loads of fun. There are trails for everyone somewhere on the mountain. The condos have always been nice for us. Some nicer then others but all serve the purpose of a home base to sleep, eat and rest. Most have a washer and dryer. If you stay through the resort you will have access to the health club which has a pool. My kids always loved that.
The staff from the resort desk to the guys running the lifts to the maid service are great ...I even had a great experience with the owner ...who I didn't know untiI I asked the women behind the desk "who was that" ...her reply ..."that's Win Smith ..he's the owner".

If you like to ski or have never skied and want to try come here. You will love this place and the Mad River Valley!

We skied at Mt Ellen, which is less busy than Lincoln Peak. It's pure Vermont, an older lodge, with character. The trials are what it is all about. Panorama trial, a catwalk at the summit of Mt Ellen, is one of the most picturesque trials in Vermont. The views are amazing. You can take a lift over to Lincoln Oeak if you want but I live the serenity of Amtrak. Ellen.

Thanks for the great review! The view from Panorama is unlike any other. We're glad you enjoyed it! To get to see Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks, and the Green Mountains all at once is truly something special.

Was a great mountain! Tons of trails! We found mt Ellen more fun (personal view) the skiing was great, staff in the rental section were pleasant. Snow was a little sticky, but that's expected as end of season comes :,(. Great alp for beginners intermediates, and if your crazy the double blacks looked the part. Only issue we had was a few lifts were closed off that day making it a trek to get to a few trails however that's expected end of season on a Thursday. All in all a great experience, can't wait to come back next season!!

We went end of the week, mid March. Best experience ever at a big ski resort. Treated like family at the sugarbush inn, got to know the express driver like a brother. So friendly. I’m sure its different when it’s super busy but we had a great time
