Cool vibe, great classic rock music, great fresh burger, quality over quantity. Try the honey roasted carrots! no reservations, but "put my name in" app works well.

Food is always great. Service is always great. A fun atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Tonight had tacos. Excellent ! Son had steak sandwich special. Also amazing. All staff concerned about their customers.

We got this tip from a wonderful young man, at the Tourist office. The chef owns another restaurant in nearby Waterbury, more upscale, according to reviews. The food was very good, ambience perfect for families, solo travellers, young folks. Great music, not too loud, fun and friendly. I highly recommend this place

We stopped by Doc Pond's for lunch during a three day trip to Stowe and really enjoyed the beer, food and atmosphere. There were a ton of beers on tap (Fiddlehead is a fantastic IPA) and while the food was basic pub fare it was good enough and reasonably priced. While nothing really stood out as far as eats went the decor, music, slew of old vinyl records and story of Doc Pond made it a worthwhile visit (Doc Pond was a expert witness at a trial involving a beer keg).

Doc Ponds came highly recommended from a friend and did not disappoint. It's a busy little joint, but we were able to walk right in at lunchtime on a Saturday and sit at the bar. This was only the very first weekend the mountain was open, so keep that in mind.

Even if you do have to wait, it's well worth it. All of our food, and everything that went by our drooling faces was and looked awesome. The prices were pretty decent too... tacos for $11, burger for $8 + $3 fries, etc. Seems important to note as at least one person that asked us about it thought it might be fancy because of it's relation to Hen of the Wood, but it couldn't be more casual. At the bar, there were clearly locals on lunch breaks getting burgers, and the whole place had a home-y vibe to it. Like a lot of the places we went to in Stowe, everyone really seemed to enjoy working with each other and joking around, harassing locals, etc. Our waitress was basically the sweetest lady in the world. Oh, and the music is awesome too.

I thought the Doc Ponds marketing gimmick was a little cheesy, but my girlfriend loved it and bought a hat and stickers, so opinions vary! One thing is for sure though, the team at Hen of the Wood knows how to create an atmosphere. From fine dining to a casual lunch place, both had a very distinct vibe.

We live in a hopping little culinary city and would love to have a place like this down the street. You Stowe folks are lucky to have this gem.
