We had the pleasure of staying at Field Guide and decided to try brunch at their restaurant Picnic Social. Delicious from start to finish! Grilled toast with avocado, bacon, eggs, ranch mayo and cilantro and homestyle fingerling potatoes. It was my favorite breakfast in Stowe! My hubby enjoyed his shrimp and grits! Well worth a visit! Many interesting options on the menu. Excellent service, friendly staff!

This restaurant is just a bit too rustic for my taste, especially in a facility that bills itself as a boutique hotel.

We're disappointed to hear that you did not fully enjoy your dining experience with us. Many guests rave about the feel of our restaurant and comment on enjoying the mix of both rustic and modern. We do hope that you'll give us another try!

Great food! Great ambiance, both inside and out! We were traveling with our dog and needed an outdoor dinner option in the rain. Picnic Social has a covered deck that was the perfect option. They were very accommodating, great service, and delicious food!

Stopped by for a draft beer special and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. This was on a weekday during the second week of Sept (2017) so Stowe was a little on the Quiet Side. Despite originally being the only players in the outside area the waitstaff was very attentive and amazingly hospitable. The quality of food is a matter of personal taste and perception, but I thought the food was superior to other more famous and expensive restaurants in the area. The food is served as plates ( or tapas style) the beer list has a good mix of the excellent local and away beers. The inside room is very cozy and the deck expansive. The best thing about this place though is the no - attitude hipster free staff

I live north of Stowe and have heard about this place for a while. I started out across the street at McCarthy's for breakfast but it was packed and loud and although seated fairly quickly, no waitstaff appeared. I finally walked out and went across the street to Picnic Social. Omg this place was fantastic. Everything from the funky modern design inside to the inviting orange picnic tables outside was refreshing. The brunch menu wasn't huge but everything was tempting. I ended up getting the smoke salmon. It came on thick toast with perfectly poached eggs, delicious dill aioli, and the best fingerling potatoes I have ever had. My son had pancakes and loved them. They have tons of games to occupy you including little table top pool tables. We also tried a round of Jenga. It was just so fun and different but most importantly excellent quality. Can't wait to go back and try other brunch items or check them out for dinner and maybe a stay in their equally cool rooms.
